Summer game #3

Jazz look pathetic.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

we need to get used to it, but we will always be good enough to not secure a top 3 pick.

Koufos is the only guy that played well, 19 and 7. Augustine was OK (8 and 5) and so was Jeffers. Hayward didn't look good but got free throws.

Gaines is such a problem that he doesnt make other players better. Kosta shows something but clearly he will not reach the promise the scouts thought when he left high school for his one year of college.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

After the shear disappointment on draft night in not getting a big, then came the frustration that we took Gordon over the more athletic and higher ceiling and longer player in Paul George. Why didn't we take him. The answer: Gordon was the safe pick. Jazz always take the safe pick. When faced with Kosta Koufus or Serge Ibaka we took the safe pick. Ibaka gets taken next and blows up in OKC.

Frustrating. I would much rather have a high ceiling guy in George than Hayward. Hayward might surprise but his upside is really limited compared to George.

Is it sad that watching Jeremy Evans is more entertaining then watching Hayword? Evans has some promise I think. He just needs some time in the D-league and some weight. Will so does Hayword.

I watched George for 2 years at Fresno State. He was not dominant and in capable of carrying his team whatsoever. He will be out of the league in 5 years. Hayward will be a good player/borderline allstar for 10+ years

You are all like Republicans, wishing failure for your team to protect your own ego. Hayward wasn't a safe pick. He was a risky pick. Draft Aldrich and if he busts you can give the old can't teach height song and dance. In 3 games he has certainly shown the ability to run NBA plays. Once he is playing with real playmakers I can tell he will be an adequate replacement for Harpring.

Yeah, the idea that Hayward was the safe pick is hilarious. The discourse on this board is proof enough to the contrary.

I don't think anyone unhappy with the Hayward pick really wants him to fail, even if they are republican douche bags.

My thoughts:

Too many whistles and substitutions. The Jazz are really doing nobody any favors with the amount of guys they bring to Orlando and the way they distribute minutes. I would like to see them change that for the last few games.

Kosta - was solid again. Gaining confidence it seems. Even went up and got a dunk! :-o !

Hayward - not a game you watch and feel good about him as the #9 pick. Shot the ball terribly. Missed his threes by A LOT. He seems like he is genuinely lacking confidence. Got beat defensively too a couple of times.

Evans - had a few flashes in this game. One moster block. Good D. If he can put on some muscle mass between now and camp he may actually have a shot to make the team.

Sundiata - bad game. I think his poor FT shooting has really gone to his head. He looked confident early in summer league and now cant hit the broad side of the barn.

Othyus - not much to say. I dont see him on the Jazz this season. Maybe only for his cheerleading skills, which are great.

Augustine - continues to do solid work. Would like to see him in camp. Seemingly has a chance to make the team.

Meh, third game in 3 nights, you are bound to have a stinker.

The good signs are Kosta is playing as well as he is supposed to be playing, and maybe he'll be able to get some burn this season because of it.
