This is a little different. No well respected newspaper ever published a report saying that LeBron was going anywhere... many reports that he was "leaning" in certain directions, and that certain teams had various edges... but never reported as done. LeBron is currently in NY, where his plane landed at about 11:15 (approx), and he could have already signed a deal if he met someone there.

Also... this is being moved around a lot.

Might be the real deal. :(

No they haven't. They are just reporting he is "leaning" and make no mention of the quality of their source.

I noticed that too... but the article is still on Newsday...regardless of what wiretap here says. If the "wiretap" was to be an actual "wiretap" it would say what was reported.

Newsday reports that LeBron is going to Miami.

Unless they removed/changed their article in the last 5 minutes.

The word "leaning" has been on Newsday ever since you posted it in clear view.

No... they changed it. I'm too damn lazy to write out that crap on my own...and I wouldn't waste my time posting that he is leaning...anywhere.

Ask BW... look at his tweets... did he say it is being reported that LBJ was "Leaning" anywhere?

No... because they said he was GOING to the HEAT!!! They changed it!

I know what the tweets said but when hit the Newsday site the title had "leaning" in it. No one outside of James/Mav have any idea and I think anyone who claims to know is full of it.

mhaubs "Sources tell me LeBron is currently dining w/Amare in NY, playing softball in Akron, mtg w/Riles in Mia & visiting LLohan in an LA jail."

That would be ironic for Lebron to sign with Miami and be Wade's Pippen, because Miami is Wade's team. That would make Lebron's legacy talk all a bunch of BS too... just like the hypocrisy of Loyalty that have been attributed to Lebron signing somewhere else. I am not interested in watching Lebron's ego stroked on ESPN starting at 9:00 p.m.... no matter what he decides.

Heat makes no sense. Three players taking up $50 million in salary with NO supporting cast? Yikes!

LeBron James will choose Miami Heat tonight, Newsday reports
Thursday, July 08, 2010, 1:57 AM
Brian Windhorst, The Plain Dealer

A report out of New York says LeBron James has chosen to leave the Cavaliers and sign with the Miami Heat.

Citing multiple sources, Newsday reported on its website early Thursday morning that James had chosen to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in South Florida.

ESPN reporter Chris Broussard posted on Twitter that "sources with knowledge of the situation" said James will go to Miami "barring a late change of heart."

Just rumors. I remember all the "sources" that that were claiming Amare had been traded to this or that team.

And you got to ask yourself why would James head to to a worst built team? Heat need a PG, need a big man in the center, need players to come off the bench. They will never get past the elite teams.

I still don't feel he would be announcing on ESPN that he is leaving Cleveland. That is too classless.

LeBron to Miami being reported as a near certainty:

Chris Paul, one of James' best friends, has urged him to stay and let new Cleveland Cavaliers coach Byron Scott coach him, according to sources. With such strong sentiment around him to not go to Miami it's possible James could alter his decision.

James' family and friends are divided over his decision to play in Miami, according to sources. Opinions range from understanding his desire to play with All-Star teammates, to feelings that he is selling himself short by joining "Wade's team,'' to concerns that by playing on such a power-packed squad he will hurt his brand even if he wins championships.

Some in James' camp would like him to stay in Cleveland, and James indeed worked hard to help the Cavaliers improve their roster. He tried to sell Bosh on the idea of coming to Cleveland, but the 6-11 forward was adamant that he did not want to play in northeast Ohio.

While sources close to James insist that his heart is in Cleveland and that remaining with the Cavaliers was his preferred choice, they say he had concerns about signing a six-year deal there and ending up "31 years old, with bad knees and no title."

Couple of things that ring out: Bosh said he passed on Cleveland because he wasn't sure what LBJ was going to do. Going to MIA would put him in a worst position than with the Cavs. MIA is bare bones, $50 million would be tied in 3 players. There is no title hopes in that.
