Because most of us are rube's at heart. Everyone's got a lil Rube in them?
Either that, or we don't check Rube so we don't know when it's from rube?

Because RealGm is like UsWeekly or People magazine for guys(and some women I am sure) :-)

We hear MIN is being rumored about, and we start to salivate. That doesn't mean that there aren't sketchy sources that we should be aware of.

That's a good point. One thing I like about RubeChat is that with so many of them, they often are the first to notice breaking news. Of course, if that news comes from Derek Rick, then perhaps it shouldn't have made the leap over here without a link to a more reputable source.

I've probably posted on RubeChat more in the last 2 years than any regular RealGMer (though john2jer is likely to pass me). I would say that RubeChat has improved a great deal in the last year. They have a handful of very strong posters, and you don't have to wade through as much garbage to find them as you used to.

I tend to see the two forums as meeting different needs. RealGM essentially is for GM decisions. Questions about salary, how you build a team, statistics, etc are the heart of RealGM. Rube Chat is for fans. They are far more focused on their emotions and how an individual game goes. There's overlap of course, but its really a situation where its "different strokes for different folks."
