While watching the Knicks/Cavs game, I have come to one major conclusion. Al Harrington still **** sucks.

LeBron James Plans Weekend Party in South Beach!
Thursday – July 08, 2010 – 12:13pm

LeBron James has rented six cabanas at the W Hotel South Beach this weekend to celebrate his team decision, two sources confirm to UsMagazine.com.

That adds more fuel to the fire that James, 25, will announce he's joining the Miami Heat Thursday night, as several insiders told ESPN this morning. (He's still confirmed to attend NBA star Carmelo Anthony's Saturday-night wedding to former MTV VJ LaLa Vazquez in NYC.)

The basketball great will make his announcement from the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich, Conn. Thursday night during an hourlong sports special called The Decision, to be aired on ESPN at 9 P.M. ET. Proceeds from commercial sales will be donated to the club.

Because we really haven't had any good games against him? It might be a preparatory, softening-the-blow kind of thing. After one of those games was when he uttered his, "They don't play no defense," smirk. MSG can say he never wanted to come here all along, despite our best efforts.

truth serum wrote:I will admit...today had me worried. It made yesterday feel too good to be true. I was mostly worried about the Cavs, figuring that they built us up last night, then Miami today just to make it more epic and shocking when he chooses Cleveland. Then about halfway through the day, I even started to worry about Miami. The radio was on all day at work and it was literally driving me berserk. But that's when I realized that was exactly what they wanted, and that I needed to trust my gut feeling and the same logic I have been preaching on this board the entire time. Then I started to put the pieces together one last time.

-I am officially scratching the Cavs off of my list of possibilities. Not only has he crippled them this off season in terms of finding a coach and making moves to improve the roster, but he will have single-handedly improved the rest of the east by enticing so many teams to clear so much cap. Their biggest problem would be a Bulls team who play in the same division and are better than the Cavs with the addition of Boozer alone. Miami and even the Knicks are improved enough without him - with the ability to get better - to surpass them as well.

-And basically, I'm going to scratch Miami off for too many reasons to list them all. Considering his aspirations to be a mogul and King of the game, I don't buy for a second that he would go do it in Miami. Never mind the fact that ESPN has been pushing it the entire day of his "Decision" show airing on their network! It makes infinitely more sense that he would hook up his boys and let Wade and Bosh team up while he secures his legacy in the city of his choosing. If they didn't conspire on this, LeBron, having so much power, could have been screwing these guys over HARD BODY if he wasn't careful. These guys ARE friends and have each others backs. This is the logical plan for them.

-Then you look at the facts for the Knicks. We know he loves NY. We know he wants to be a billionaire. We know he wants to leave the greatest legacy possible. We know he has a new website and is trying to market himself to be bigger than any other star there has ever been. This media frenzy he and his people have created is proof of that, and what they're doing is actually revolutionary which goes to show how big he plans to be. And these facts alone eliminate both Cleveland and Miami. Obviously Chicago.

Just look at how the Knicks have set this thing up for him. We have literally built our team around him for 2 years while he was employed by someone else. Simply put, our front office has clearly outworked every other team involved and it's no coincidence. Donnie Walsh knew that if he did his job, with his M.O. being CLEAR CAP AT ALL COSTS, he would get LeBron. I don't know if he was told this or not, but he at the very least sensed what was in the cards. Royal flush!

I analyzed the interview Mike D'Antoni gave to 1050 today and I think about his interview after their meeting with LeBron...how he reacted when they asked him about being given slim chances by the media. He said "Well I hate to be snide, but I know how you guys do...I'm glad we're not in the lead". He knows this media sh*t is a joke. And if he knows Bron is coming and they ask him about the rumors like they did today, of course he's going to say "Well, it certainly looks like we've fallen behind as of late, but until we hear directly from his people that we're out, we still think we have a chance". That's not the exact quote, but you can see D'Antoni taking the high road here. What...is he going to break the news right there?

One of the biggest giveaways is the second meeting we had. Because the media controls us, and these "sources" control the media. Sound familiar?? ( I won't go there :D ) So if the second meeting was brushed under the rug and "hidden" in the first place, then these "sources" didn't want to leak it or sensationalize it...for good reason. Who knows how many other meetings there were? Add to that: we went and claimed Amar'e almost immediately after our first meeting. Too many hints to hide during that whole process which is why we saw some really garbage reports that week. None of them convincing.

Right now, they don't mind teasing the Miami fans because they already got their dynamic duo. The big thing is preparing Cleveland to say goodbye so if the folks there choose to tune in, they're ready for a low blow. That's where things will get interesting. The one thing that had me worried this whole time was trying to imagine LeBron burying Cleveland and the state of Ohio during an hour special on ESPN. But then I realized that he WILL announce the Knicks in the first 10 minutes, and then spend the rest of the hour cushioning the blow for his fans back home.

Look at lebronjames.com. The main theme there is that "it's bigger than basketball" and that LeBron has a vision for the community. I can guarantee you that he will announce some sort of amazing foundation or plan for Akron to help uplift them and the community there. Some sort of charity-type situation that will win everyone's hearts and rebuild his image after it took such a blow this summer. And in this moment that I realized this, I actually gained back a lot of respect for LeBron after losing plenty of it today and during this entire bullsh*t act. Maybe he does have a good cause in mind and is utilizing his unbelievably huge persona to benefit himself and his friends and family, as well as his community that he loves so much and has always went out of his way to pay tribute to. New York will be his tool to achieve great things there, and that's what ESPN will help him sell. Book it!

Now they're bringing up this Isiah thing to throw us off as well, but rest assure, it is no last-ditch effort. The idea of that is laughable, which is probably the very reason it happened if it's true. Remember, Jim Dolan is very loyal and the players love Isiah...including LeBron. Maybe it's a way to put Isiah in a better light with Knick fans so we can fully celebrate the moment and forgive Isiah for his transgressions. Maybe it's Dolan's way of apologizing to Isiah for putting so much pressure on him, and then firing him for someone who would eventually get the credit for undoing his mess. Whatever it is, I know they are not sending Isiah to LeBron's house because they think it's their last chance to get him lol. The Knicks are about to do something EPIC, and are pulling out all the stops. I will actually feel good for Isiah if they tie him into this somehow.

All in all...I am putting my own neck out and guaranteeing you that LeBron will become a Knick tonight. I've always said it but never quite guaranteed it. But after a day of stewing over it, I am now more confident than ever. If I am wrong, you can bump this thread after LeBron's show and scold me 8-)

Ive literally said everything in this post today.

I can't stress enough how unlikely of a destination Miami is for LeBron. If he goes there, his image will be forever shattered without a doubt. I could understand a 31 year old Garnett forcing his way to team up with 2 star players...but a 25 year old who's been humbled in the playoffs numerous times going to a team with 2 elite level talents in the core of their prime? If they do win multiple titles, in terms of LeBron's reputation and his status as being one of the greatest of all time, it would take a major hit. It's also not about LeBron being 2nd fiddle to Wade or Bosh (I doubt he'd be 2nd fiddle), but the fact that it took LeBron teaming up with not one, but two elite level players to overcome what he couldn't do as "the man". It would really tarnish his legacy, in fact, the more titles he wins, the more doubt will be raised regarding his status as a mega superstar...there would be no basis for making an argument for LeBron being the best to ever play. He'd permanently be pegged behind Jordan and Kobe and other greats (Magic, Bird, O'Neal, Hakeem etc).

It's why I will be utterly shocked and very disappointed in LeBron if he goes to the Heat and not because he did not choose NY, but because it kills everything I've thought of him as a player and competitor on the basketball court. If he goes to NY, NJ or Chicago, the man is a confident SOB and wants to show the world he wants to be the best by beating the best. If he returns to Cleveland, he's a loyal player that knows he can win a title as "the man", regardless of having a robin. But if he goes to Miami, what's there to prove? What can he do there that can help him make a case for being the GOAT? I know some will take this as just "another bitter Knick fan throwing in the towel", but I'm not. I'm talking from a basketball fan's perspective and as a basketball fan, I simply do not believe LeBron has any intention of joining the Heat. Cleveland? Yes. NY? Yes. Chicago? Yes. Miami? Aside from it being a media driven agenda, I don't see how LeBron ends up there. I just don't. That's my 2 cents...

truth serum...you're one of my favorite posters on this forum. I haven't given up on our theories until I get the word from the horse's mouth. I just don't see how we've been downplayed this entire FA period, to become the favorites the at this time yesterday, only to be deemed completely out of the race today.

Truth will be told at 9pm EST. I haven't believed anything up until this point, I'm not starting now.
