They said LeBron himself DID NOT meet with Isiah, only LeBron's handlers.

Or if he announces for us, it will come as a complete surprise to them.

When it comes to spending money on free agents, Isiah knows how to do that. And let's not forget, he is a HOF player who won 3 rings. Dolan must think Isiah can work his svengali mojo on Lebron ... like he did on Dolan.

as SAS said, the players love IT.... he's a bad coach, bad exec... but the players like him.. he was supposedly useful in getting Amar'e here, may as well get him to Akron too

Knicks final pitch to LeBron delivered by Isiah »
By Frank Isola

Isiah Thomas is still James Dolan's most trusted NBA expert

Dolan dispatched Thomas, the Knicks' former team president, to Akron on Wednesday to make one last pitch to LeBron James. Radio personality Stephen A. Smith reported news of Thomas' meeting earlier today.

The News has learned that Dolan handpicked Thomas over Mike D'Antoni to make the final plea to James, a decision which only fuels speculation that Thomas may eventually return to work for the organization in some capacity.

Thomas was demoted two years ago and just months after the Garden reached an out of court settlement with a former executive who had accused Thomas of sexual harassment. The Garden was found liable in the lawsuit.

Thomas worked for the club as a consultant for one season but not before being rushed to the hospital in September 2008 for what was called an accidental overdose of prescription medication. Last summer, Thomas accepted the head coaching job at Florida International University in Miami.

At Amar'e Stoudemire's press conference today, Knicks president Donnie Walsh stunned some in the audience by thanking Thomas for his help during the recruitment of Stoudemire. A Knicks official claims that Dolan instructed Walsh to thank Thomas during his brief speech.

Isiah Thomas visited LeBron James on Wednesday night to make one final pitch for him to join the Knicks.

On another site:
As Frank Isola said on Twitter: "The Heat sent Pat Riley while the Knicks sent a guy that doesn't even work for the organziation." Considering that everything Isiah has touched since his playing days ended has turned to mush, this was a very interesting choice for Jim Dolan to make. It also creates some thought that Isiah may end up playing a prominent role for the Knicks again. Either way, Isiah's name is now going to be associated with LeBron's decision as it relates to the Knicks, win or lose.

Did anyone see that mansion in Greenwich that LeBron was walking into earlier? Someone get on google street view and find out if its Allan Houstons house.

If that were the case, why not just pull the trigger on the Lee trade? IMO know one knows yet.

Now this is weird!

R-Nics just reported that they are for sale... an Amar'e and Lebron version...

Someone is trying to make a buck. Unless MSG is behind it, it is some street vendor.

This sucks...

'A reliable source tells HollywoodLife.com that Miami Heat Team President Pat Riley has rented out the entire second floor of Polpo Restaurant in Greenwich, Conn., for July 8. The restaurant is located near the Boys and Girls Club, where LeBron James will be making his big announcement tonight. Sounds like Pat might have reason to celebrate!'

I tried going to the reservation page of restaurant site and it says its not working due to high volume.

Ryan Ruocco:
apparently they have mics set up for crowd reaction-what kind of reaction are they expecting from the greenwich crowd if he says no to NY

This seems odd to me. All the kids in the crowd will be booing Lebron if he doesn't pick the Knicks
