Knicks fan here. I really wanted him but I really feel for you guys. To do this on TV like this is just cowardly.

Sorry fellas. I wanted him to either go to NYK or you guys, and in the end I hoped he would stick it out with you. The way he handled this was classless, hopefully you guys will bounce back soon and not let this be the defining moment of your franchise.

I'm a Wizards who has always hated the Cavs and Lebron. But you now I have to root for the Cavs. This is the biggest bitch move in NBA history. I hope Lebron, Wade, and Bosh all tear their acl's every year for the rest of their career. And I hope the Cavs win the NBA draft lottery next year or Chris Paul is traded there.

I thought LeBron wanted a coach that played in the NBA? I think he's been playing everybody and Bosh, Wade, and James planned this since they signed their previous contracts. Oh well, hope the Cavs can rebuild quickly and stop the Heat within the next 5 years (when Wade is 34 yrs old).
It's hard being a Knicks fan...

Lebron is the biggest bastard ever. There was no bigger douche move than to take an hour to announce he's leaving his hometown.

I'm enjoying the jersey burnings.

Now I understand why Lebron had a second rate marketing team headed by his buddy Maverick Carter... since Lebron is second rate and only dominates with his ego rather than on the court in the playoffs. Now Lebron can blame Wade (since he's his side kick) when Miami doesn't win a championship.
This is the ultimate classless act dumping on your home team on National T.V.

Toronto fans are struggling with losing Bosh but it comes nowhere near what Cleveland fans are feeling today. I feel for you guys, that city really does get uplifted by it's basketball team and this is a blow not just to the Cavs but the city of Cleveland and it's people.

Why should he be forced to stay with a team that has shown it's incapable of surrounding him with Championship caliber talent? Because it's his hometown? Sports fans always say how refreshing it would be for an athlete to make a career choice based on winning over money. And then when one finally does, we crucify him. I say good for you Lebron.

Would I have an hour long ESPN special about me leaving? Not likely.

And don't worry Cavs fans, you can buy a team but you can't buy chemistry.

I don't think anyone is saying LeBron should always and only play for the Cavs. He played his heart out and earned the right to be a free agent. No one's disputing that.

I just think a lot of people are disgusted that it turned into a national TV spectacle. Did he really have to have an ESPN special to announce his "decision"?

He's a kid who has been told how great he is ever since he could play basketball. Everyone kneeled before The King. Hell.....ESPN was fighting to air his friggin' HIGHSCHOOL games. What do you think that's done to his ego? I guess in hindsight this was the only way LeBron knew how to do it.

I'm sure he believes in his heart that he's making the right decision and after the front offices ineptitude he's probably right but he shouldn't have done it this way. Had it been done right the city and fans wouldn't have blamed him for leaving.

Portland fan here.

I'm pretty stunned that he had the gall to make this whole charade and agree to go on national television to do this. And to say that he was going to take his talents to "South Beach"? How very teenager of him. He may not regret this for the next few years, but his image will be forever tarnished by this, and once his best years are behind him and especially after he retires, he may just question it.

Lebron didn't handle this well, its obvious to me that he doesn't have the mental make up of the all time greats, most def routing for the downfall of the heat and cleveland to rebound quickly.

Go cavs you have place in my heart at least until seattle gets a team back

As a Wizards fan, I never thought I'd feel sorry for Cavs fans, but wow. Not only what he did, but how he did it...that was just so way over the top, so humiliating - its gotta have been devastating. You all have my sympathies.
