Pads at Nats

Post#1 » by Jollay » Wed Jul 7, 2010 1:59 pm

Couldn't even sell my tickets for ten bones apiece last night. 100 degree weather plus no T-shirts on T-shirt Tuesday plus the Padres equals no sale.

Nats win game one 6-5 over the I believe its San Diegoans on Zimmy's second homer of the night, a solo shot in the ninth. Here's hoping his slump is over. Caps got the win.

Tonight it's JD Martin against Jon Garland (8-5 3.24 ERA). Garland held the Nats to two runs in seven innings at Petco on May 30 in a no-decision.

See you out at Nats Park! Be sure to drink plenty of beer to hydrate you during this heat emergency....

The Nats, fueled by anger over my State of the Nationals post, get it done again in the second game.

Whatever he hits, he destroys!!!!

--Adam Dunn's trainer, Rocky IV

Dunn homers three times, Drew Storen shows some vulnerability in Clippard's eighth inning role, and Capps gets another shaky save in a 7-6 win.

Ian Desmond homers for the second straight game as well. Nats will go for the sweep with Atilano going tomorrow.

God was it frickin' hot out there. Even cold Miller Lites couldn't abate my blatant dehydration and in fact I seriously I think I have legitimate mild brain damage. It had to be 90 degrees even when the sun went down...

Bear dehydrates you more than not drinking anything at all. Just think if you were playing catcher in that heat.... Zimmerman and Dunn showing some power nice.
I am Scabs.

Pads take the final game 7-1. Pretty uneventful from a Nats standpoint...

The Pads have some weird monkey they hit everytime a Padre hits a homerun. And Mat Latos had his first career homerun. The Pads bullpen then bargained with a kid to get the ball, giving him five balls in return. I woulda held out for alot more...
