This is what I don't understand. He not only angered fans in Cleveland (Which was inevitable), he ticked off fans in several cities by going on this ego trip.

Chicago gave away Hinrich and a 1st rounder for nothing.

Both are assets.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Biggest loser is LeBron himself... Goodbye Legacy, Money and the love from his fans in his own town/state.

Sports fans are fickle. He'll pick up new fans in Miami. He'll also pick up other fans if/when he does win a championship.

Add the Nuggets to the list... Carmelo is not going to let the other big three 2003 draft picks take over thet league for years to come. Melo is going to get CP3 or Parker to go to NY to join
Dan Gilbert: As funny as his rant might be, he will be eating his words and be the owner of a team of "what ifs "
Bulls also lost hinrich and first round draft pick for nothing.
Espn: will be linked with James silly ego driven show... And silly questions of Jim Grey leading up to the announcement.

Now for winners:
Miami... Duh except now everyone will hate you like the Yankees...the Lakers are the new 2nd favorite team. But they will win rings and that is what matters at the end of the day.
Bosh: guy had nothing going for him in Toronto... Now with Championships, he will be able to cement his place among top PFs to play the game... Otherwise would be a nice guy never to win anything.
Kobe Bryant: Bron's numbers will take a hit, he is seen as a villain and now will seem as a guy who needed two future hall of famers to win it. Kobe leading his team will give greater name to his legacy. Kobe will remain a bigger marketing draw.
Jordan: no one will touch him now except Kobe... stayed loyal to Chicago, won six with less
talent... Bron had the best chance based on numbers and loyalty, but both of those things are gone regardless of number of cookies he gets.

Stern: Christmas day and Finals will be biggest watched... He will be salivating.

There's no "potentially" about it. They might not win this year, but if they don't end up with three or four titles it'll be one of the biggest failures in sports history. Only way they blow this is if either Wade or LeBron suffers a career-ending injury, and even then the Heat will still be good.

I wonder if the lockout motivated them to do this. Who knows what happens next season, so why not win one before there's a potential lockout?

That could be the only explanation why teams are handing out max contracts like contraceptives at the local hospital.

I'd add David Lee to the list. He's going to a team (voluntarily, I know) that has NO direction or structure. He deserves better than that.

Won't be any different from the Knicks. He's used to it by now.

I'm expecting Lee to play five games, average 17 boards, shoot 55% from the field, then get mysteriously benched for two weeks.

I hate Don Nelson.
