Yeah, I was just about to post that thing, it's definitely real as it's right on the Cavaliers webpage:

http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbe ... 00708.html

I can sympathize with the position and actually much prefer it to some bland corp-shlock like I would have expected.

Yup, great villainy. It fits well that the HEAT have amongst the best 'bad guy' jersey's in the NBA.

I loved reading it too. At first, I thought it was a hack job, but I think it's clearly real.

LeBJ hasn't watched enough wrestling to know that it's pointless to turn heel if everyone already thinks you're a d**k.

A. Holy cr*p, I love the letter Dan Gilbert. Only he and JVG have put this in perspective. I love Mark Jackson but I wanted to throw up in my mouth when he said he made his kids watch the Lebron special so they would know the "right" way to handle things.

B. SILVER LINING: If they do win titles together this helps Wade's legacy more than anyone else's. I like Wade, but even if you don't, you've got to like him more than Lebron. Wade already won a title just about by himself if you watch the series and Lebron came to him to Wade not the other way around.

C. GENERATIONAL DISAPPOINTMENT: I just got back from league ball tonight and pretty much everyone there under the age of 30 thought this was a great move and couldn't see how Lebron winning a title under these circumstances would be less meaningful than what Jordan did in Chicago.

D. PAGING DAVID STERN: Is this cr*p going to happen every offseason or will there be a rule change? Isn't it a bit of a conflict for a current player to have an ownership interest in an agency that represents players from other teams? Doesn't it make it tampering when Lebron talks to these guys?

You know the rule kids, "Hand down, man down."

Loved the player. Hate the announcer.

Damn I didn't think it was possible to actually like the Cavaliers but that Gilbert letter is all kinds of awesome.

Can't wait to see all the stories emanating out of Cleveland now that King Douche is gone. There going to let everyone know exactly what they've been putting up with for the last few years. Should be some fun reading in the next few days.

Ibaka is a BETTER FIT than Bosh is. Ibaka does all the dirty work. Bosh has never been accused of doing the dirty work. Aldrich is going to be another good one. Jeff Green is the ultimate glue guy.

Plus, OKC can trade Kristic and Collison for upgrades if need be (as well as Mo Peete).

thats the other scenario... what if the heat dont blow anyone away? they need other pieces to win.

I think he was telling his kids that if they want to see the right way to be an egotisical d bag, just watch this guy. "Now kids, THAT'S the way to really rip a city's heart out in the most painful way!"

I dont know about CLE winning a ring before James.... they are going to be horrible for at least 4 seasons. I'm thinking, who on their roster would I like to get in a lopsided trade. I cant think of a single player. JJ Hickson? Nah, ill just wait and see what Seraphin can do. Some team out there desperate for a PG might go after Mo, but i dont think there are any teams that are THAT desperate. Maybe a team like the Spurs would be interested in Verejao.. maybe.

I predict this: In his entire career, Kevin Durant will win more rings than James. Book it.

I also predict this: Any championships that the Heat do win in the next 5 years, will have been helped along by the ref's even more than in their last one. Book it.

It might be the out-of-control front line of a revolt against such antics. Owners have a lot of money on the line. A league that allows such nonsense, Gasol to the Lakers, all the stars to Miami, star calls to make the best invincible...in a hard economy, maybe there's no way the league can make such manipulations up to individual owners. If there's one Dream Team in the league, there's 29 teams struggling to fill their stands, get TV revenue, and sell merchandise. Players may not like it either.

Some people may characterize that letter as classless or unforgivable, but it looks more like a spontaneous articulation of a deep disappointment felt by an entire city. It should blow over. With LeBJ, there will be constant reminders of his past, present, and future, and I agree that there is likely much documented, verifiable dirt in the hands of his now-jilted city, and some he betrayed may have spent years trying to make him look good. I think this will just keep getting worse.

No, you can really feel bad for those guys. I feel far worse for the 14 year old kid who's mind revolves around the Cavs and has always looked up to Lebron as their personal superhero.

I love the sentiment for the poor bandwagon LeBron fans.

There was no Cleveland fans when they were losing. F Cleveland and their fans, they got what they deserved.

They spent plenty an offseason reveling in the Wizards misery for me to give a **** about them now.

F LeBron and the Cavs. You all can go root for Cleveland all you want, not me, Wade is a good guy and so is Bosh I'd rather root for Miami than Cleveland.

I don't think Lebron is truly aware that his actions have consequences. He always seems surprised when they do, or tries to tell us that in his version of reality, everything is really just fine.

Yep, he really has led a sheltered life.

be careful what you wish for. miami fans have already become just like cavs fans were. there just seems to be something about lebron that causes a teams fans to become utter douches.

It's from trying to deal with the cognitive dissonance of rooting for someone you know only cares about himself. You have to convince yourself that he's a hero, and everyone else is an idiot for not seeing it. You know, or admit that you're a complete tool for being a Lebron fan.

Chalmers Will Wear No. 15 To Give LeBron No. 6
LeBron James will wear No. 6 for the 10-11 season with the Heat and Mario Chalmers will switch to No. 15, according to a source

Chalmers said he would also give LeBron his lunch money.

just a thought. if wade and bosh are the wonder twins, and the heat are the superfriends, does that make lebron gleep?
Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.
