Let's trade Chillz+Jamal+ for Arenas

Post#1 » by ACE_reppin_ATL » Fri Jul 9, 2010 4:10 pm

WAS has probably the most interest in Childress and they also need perimeter scoring and some kind of cap flexibility....So could we sign & trade Chillz (starting around $7M) + Jamal Crawford's expiring @$10M and 2011's 2nd for Arenas' bad contract ($17.7M and up) - TO FORM the best, most dynamic backourt in the NBA.

Then Shaq would definitely sign...But we'd still need to move Marvin and or Bibbly for future cap....

Likely to be roster after trade:
C - Horford / Shaq / Morris
PF - Smoove / Zaza
SF - Marvin / Evans / Sy
SG - Joe / Jordan C.
PG - Arenas / Bibby / Teague

Roster after trade that I prefer:
C - Shaq / Zaza / Morris
PF - Horford / [Free Agent?]
SF - Smoove / Evans / Sy
SG - Joe / Jordan C.
PG - Arenas / Teague

I really like this idea of bringing in Gilbert Arenas with the trade and hopefully signing a Shaq or Brad Miller type big guy. If Arenas comes back playing like he really can and the rest of our guys improve we should contend in East and maybe for a title with another piece added.

ACE....interesting way of putting that together. I like the idea of bringing in a potentially good player, but how has Arenas looked since his recovery? He wasn't in that many games last year, and we would need him to play defense on opposing team's PGs. MIght work for Nash, Paul and Fisher, but I don''t think he slows down Rose, Rondo, and John Wall.
Now, without Chills, aren't we over the cap? Say we go over acquiring Arenas...will we have to give away Marvin also? I truly don't expect much from Chills in return except maybe a 2nd rounder.

I'd do the trade if I thought the Hawks would pay the luxury tax.

I believe the Suns just traded for Childress. Not sure if it's completed, probably tomorrow.
