I don't like his defense and I don't think he will ever be more than the 3rd best player (1b or 2nd option on offense) on a serious contender, but I really like Beasley on your team. He still is really talented.

If he is used right and plays at least 30 mpg (backing up Love for 15-18 mpg at PF and playing at SF for 15+ mpg) I can even see him getting considered for MIP or 6th man of the year if he agrees to that role (doubt the latter). And he's talented enough to be a 20/8 combo forward on solid efficiency in a few years.

This also means that you trade Big Al for a guard I guess?

Should Memphis want to get rid of Z-Bo and trade him somewhere (there were rumors a couple weeks ago, maybe something has changed, idk), how about a Mayo-Jefferson swap (other contracts would have to be added)? I mean they drafted Xavier Henry and resigned Rudy Gay... could be possible.

I think everybody on the forum would likely agree that getting Mayo would be absolutely ideal for Jefferson, but I don't see that happening. I didn't follow the last 4-ish months of the season, I really quit about half way through so I'm a little behind on everything, but the investigation on Randolph is still ongoing, right? Is there something about OJ Mayo and Rudy Gay not liking each other? I guess if those things are true, there's a slight chance, but I bet Memphis would make us take Randolph.

I'm guessing most of his time will come at PF, but just with the frontcourt logjam, at least some will have to come at SF.

We're kind of logjammed everywhere... Lazar Hayward should get 0 minutes, I still don't know why we didn't roll the dice there instead of getting someone who really shouldn't even crack the rotation. After that we've still got Brewer, Johnson and Webster and Ellington showed some nice ability last year as well. If he puts it together, then somebody's getting shorted on minutes on the wings too, especially if we keep Beasley and Love and Beas plays some 3. We have a bunch of good, serviceable players especially on the wings, but no star out there. If Kahn can snag a very promising potentially budding star type SG with some of our assets, that would be spectacular.

Yeah, Hayward looks to be the odd man out, like the guy a lot, but it didn't really make sense when looking at the rest of the draft. I don't see Ellington getting a whole lot of time either. Funny that PG might be the least logjammed of the positions next year.

I'm guessing that the first half of the season or so will be about getting a decent look at everybody and trying to find out what they're capable of, then the last part will be about trying to make it all fit and whittling the rotation down some. More moves definitely need to be made.

I don't think it'd be wise to put him at SF, he's much better suited to play PF. The Heat misused him terribly which is part of the reason why he didn't live up to expectations, but he also seemed lackadaisical at times too which didn't help. He was much better when Haslem was injured or not able to play because he didn't have to worry about being taken out for every small mistake he makes. I fully believe he's going to be a multi-time all-star.

saying he has limited dribbling ability means you obviously haven't done the homework. Dude has mad ability dribbling the ball, almost like a guard. it's actually one of his strengths. That said, he should play PF, where he is a mismatch for anyone who tries to guard him and still has the strength to guard in the post and help defend.

Boy are you in for a disappointment. Think "Amare Stoudemire" ... then think smaller, less explosive, less athletic ... and not nearly the finisher ... and maybe even less decisive with the ball ... and that's Michael Beasley.

Basically he's a mid range jump shooter and not much more.

Beasley shot 40% from 3 in his rookie season.

This is the worst way to evaluate whether a player is good at something.

Beasley shot 40% alright, but that's with such a small sample size (as he hit LESS than 1/2 a three a game). It's like Shaq shooting 7/10 from the free throw line in the first game of the season then he gets injured - resulting in a 70% FT percentage. Now, you come on here and say, " Shaq isn't a terrible FT shooter, he shot 70% last season!"

Not bad. Not sure if he could replicate it though as he basically got hot shooting jump shots, but he had a couple of nice post moves and drives that if he could do more often would take his game to another level offensively.

I really wish Beasley could play SF but right now I don't think he can very well. Maybe when he's around 25 or so that wont be an issue. Either way, it's nice to have a player who can turn into a prolific scorer for us. Since we are getting rid of Al Jefferson we need people that can potentially put up a 22+ point game. Right now I don't think we have anybody. Love is the closest.Everybody else can barely crack 16 on a good night.

Assuming Jefferson is traded (and one of Brewer or Ellington could be part of that). Still not much time for Ellington, Hayward, etc. but 30 mpg each for Darko, Love, Beasley, and Johnson would be nice.

id like to see Beasley starts at the 4. he will be the only person on our team that can be a go to scorer. he is a great fit with us. i think he gets most of his time at PF and a little bit at SF.

if he doesnt start right away i see him becoming the starter at some point through the season.

It's really too bad that there's only so many great scorers at the 2, If someone was available I would package both Al and Love to get a sg and a backup 4.
