Is he a 4 or a 5

The Bulls basically did this for nothin. If you ask me LeBron knew all along where he was going and took all these teams for a ride....the Knicks, Nets and especially Chicago got held hostage....each got something out of it but not enogh to make them contenders. The problem is power shifted east so were gonna have to fight off all of these improving teams.

Seraphin is a 4 IMO. He reminds me a guy who played for the Terps and who also had a cup of coffee in the NBA, Ben Coleman. Seraphin's a lot more athletic than Ben Coleman was but he plays similarly with spin moves around the basket. I think he's similar in build. Seems like a PF all the way to me.

I have the same feeling about Seraphin as well, that he's more 4 than 5 with what little I've seen and read about him. Maybe he'll grow an inch and be a legit 6-10 and he can play more 5 than now. But he's certainly long enough and athletic enough for the 4 spot.

He has the look of a PF to me too, CJ. He does look like he can fill out his musculature quite a bit though, and he has good reach and good hops. I think he could play C next to another PF who was longer than average, like Blatche.

I think we'll need to see Kevin play against NBA competition before really judging where he can fit on this roster. In an ideal world, I'd love it if Andray could play PF on offense and C on defense, with Seraphim doing the opposite and cleaning up the glass.

Given the way free agency has played out, Hinrich has become a valuable commodity especially since Wade and the Miami Heat are contenders. Hinrich, at least in the past few years, has been able to slow down Dwayne Wade one on one. No one did a better job than Hinrich in 2006 when Miami went on to win the championship. The Bulls even eliminated Miami in 2007 due in large part to Hinrich shutting down Wade. Along with Hinrich, the Wizards could also use John Wall and Nick Young to guard Wade at times.

That being said, Washington really doesn't have enough guys to throw at LeBron. Right now , all the Wizards have are Thornton, Booker (if he can play sf), and Nick Young who would challenge LeBron offensively (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j4HCNu2gbc). Someone like Wesley Matthews or Matt Barnes comes to mind for this season but there appears to be several appealing free agent targets in 2011 including:

Anthony
Pietrus
Luc Mbah a Moute
Caron Butler
Reggie Williams
Thaddeus Young
Tayshaun Prince
Shane Battier
Corey Brewer
Jeff Green
Jared Dudley
Alonzo Gee

Bumper cars!

The Bulls board reflecting on the Kirby trade...

Oh, and while you're in the neighborhood, check out this thread were they suddenly realize that Boozer didn't break his hand 'tripping over a bag', but rather by punching the wall over his divorce. It's high hilarity; not because of Boozer's unfortunate situation, but it's quite a lively diatribe.

For argument's sake, let's assume we can ship Hinrich to the Lakers for Vujacic + Morrison (signed to a $1.8M deal to make the salaries work) + $3M cash. If that happened, we would essentially be on the hook for $7.2M in salary minus cash received, or $4.2M total. Also, rumors are the Chicago sent us cash in the trade, let's say it's $3M. If that were all true, then we effectively paid just $1.5M for the #17 pick plus a one-year rental of Vujacic and Morrison.

Indeed, maybe it makes even more sense to wait until mid-season to make that trade. We can reap the benefits of Hinrich's leadership early in the year, and then send him to a championship contender for cap relief.

Bump for me being right! :P

If Arenas is dumped, I think we'll be better off starting Young and bringing Hinrich off the bench at both positions. Hinrich can finish the games, but Young should start.

Man. I'm on fire in this thread.
