Other moves for wolves?

Post#1 » by abjsuperstar » Fri Jul 9, 2010 6:47 pm

so its almost a given we are trading either kevin love or al jefferson.. so is there a chance we can get a decent shooter this offseason who plays sg? i know its a dream situation we get iggy.. but i would like to get something decent out a al or kevin trade then just cap. any opinions on what we can or will do??

Kahn and Rambis would likely move Jefferson due to salary - not that it's out of line, but we have cheaper options at PF and other needs ... it may be be injustice to Al, but that's the position we're in. All in all, I think Love is the player drawing the most interest from other teams.

If there isn't a good young SG prospect that can be had, I can see us working back into more cap space and future picks again by trading Al. We need to be careful not to get/stay too young and set ourselves up with problems resigning contracts a couple years up the road.

I don't buy that crap. What, he had 3 less points and a few less rebounds, so now we'll be happy to get Dampier, Carrol and Stevenson? C'mon. He's worth far more than that.

Allegedly, it would be Carroll and Stevenson INSTEAD of Dampier. I don't see that happening in this lifetime, unless they're including some serious sweetener (which they don't really have).

WHAT??? Why? Because he has a non-guaranteed contract? So what. What ever happened to trading for talented players? We have a ton of good players and zero great ones. I can't believe that the press has talked down Al Jefferson's value to T'Wolf fans. I can't believe you guys accept this nonsense. Why does everyone just go along with it? Just because the press say Big Al ain't worth anything doesn't mean it's true.

He's worth far less now that the Raptors, Cavs, Jazz, and Suns all have TPE's of $13M or more.

And with all the big guys decided/signed, I doubt anyone will be pushing that hard for more cap-space.

There has to be someone on here who agrees with me on Al's value.

Dampier? .... I don't think so. Sure, we may opt for cap space or some combination of picks for Al, but I don't think I'm willing to send him to the west for frickin Dampier.

Just let things continue to settle out ... Jefferson will start to look like a great addition to some team - at some point. Patience.

You said it yourself. And Al is most definitely included in this.

While Al's trade value climbs each day as more and more good players leave free agency, Dampier's value declines for the same reason.

MIN isn't in the lux, or even over the cap. Both he and Cuban have net worth's just over $2 billion.

I am leaning towards Jefferson to Charlotte for Chandler and a Pick. Love and Brewer for Iggy.

Darko / Chandler / Pekovic
Beasley / Chandler
Johnson / Webster
Iguodola / Webster / Ellington
Flynn / Sessions

What about Houston, they were really interested in Bosh and could use a PF

Maybe Jefferson for Battier/Jeffries/NY 2012 1st

or when Kahn decides to move Love

Love for Hill and 2011 Houston 1st (they have the rights to pick swap with NY in 2011 which should be in the top 10, pick swap only has #1 overall protections on it)

A move that procures a 2012 first rounder should be one of the primary goals of any transactions in this offseason or the next, in my opinion. I would hate losing that pick to the Clipper without some sort of insurance in place.

Love for Hill and a Pick is tough. Hill would actually fit in well with this team as Beasley's back up and he can take some center minutes.

NY will probably will land somewhere in the 6-12 range. so lets call it the #9 pick.

Hill plus 2011 #9 pick for Love... Could work.

The other deal with Battier/Jefferies .... I think a third team would need to be involved that can get us a TPE and wants Battier/Jefferies (we keep the pick.)
