Open Petition to Dan Gilbert regarding the Cavs Jersey

Post#1 » by Pula_86 » Sat Jul 10, 2010 3:05 am

I might be the only one who feels this way. Given the dismal era of Cavs basketball since the last two changes in jerseys and the sour taste of the LBJ era, I think we should go back to our 1980s and early 1990s style jerseys. I think it would be a great message of the pride and history of Cavalier baskeball. Selfishly, I just think they are better looking jerseys. Blue, white, wine, and orange would be the primary colors with a yellow alternate. If you all agree, lets make this thing a reality.

New Era, New team, Ole Skoole Flavor! Go Cavs!

Sorry, the blue and orange jerseys were a cheap attempt at ripping off the Knicks colors, and they are hideous imo. Lets not let Lebron leaving make us abandon the original wine and gold colors that shouldnt have been dropped in the first place.

I'm with gflem, those are just hideous. They've slightly changed the color scheme. I don't think we should do anything else to acknowledge L. James.

Stick with the Wine and Gold. Lebron showed his true colors, let's not run from ours!

I wasn't proposing changing the colors. I just think the retro jerseys are better than the modern Cavs jerseys with the old logo. I actually feel the new logo represents the LeBron James era as a Cavalier.

LeBron also left your Knicks high and dry, so did Joe Johnson, and they were once considered favorites for him.

And Amare ain't getting you guys to the playoffs on his own.

No need to dis the Knicks. What I was trying to say was that I dont want the Cavs to be like the Bengals, who couldnt even get their own colors, thay had to copy the Browns. Of course Paul Brown did that to screw with Modell, but that is ancient history anyway.

New jerseys can be used to symbolize a new era. That's something that might boost morale among fans.
