Should Mitch be Fired?

Post#1 » by xkirruax » Sat Jul 10, 2010 2:51 am

The guy is an Idiot i swear and dosnt know when to use the levarge he has. these are the Bad contracts the guy has handed out.
Walton
Sasha
Vlad
Bynum
With Walton Sasha and Bynum they could of all been had for less of what they signed. No one was offering Walton that much plus that extra 6th year was even worst. Sasha was only being courted by a team "over sea's" Yet he gave him 2 mil more then he should of but atleast it was a 3 year deal. Now Bynum is another one wich made no sence they didnt have to sign Bynum to anything at all. We could of waited tell the off season seeing how we pretty much maxed him out anyways plus we could have just matched if push came to shove. Last year with Odom we offered him 2 mil more then we had to also no team cuz no team had cap space.

Now we have Blake who is our big signing this year. Just look at it he could of been gotten for 500k to 1 mil less a year. No teams was going to offer him more then that. This year again like last year players have no levarge to ask for more *Fisher* no team will offer him more then vets min and he is trying to overpay for 2.5 mil and now thinking of going over that wtf is he thinking.

Now with trades we have seen a lot of teams fleece other teams last year for player we could of used like Jeffries off the bench last year and this year. PLus could of used the picks huston got just for taking him on. Players wanting to come play for the Lakers this year Shaq and T Mac might end up with MIA cuz he wont sign him for no reason now they might help them out a lot instead of us.

We just won back to back titles and you want to fire our GM? Why are you so worried about Miami? They have to come take OUR TROPHY. We don't have to take theirs.

Also, stop freaking out about twitter rumors from 3rd tier "new" reporters and wait and see where players sign. Tmac and Shaq are not signing with Miami.

Lol he isnt the reason we won those titles. He was giftwraped this team on a silver platter he claim to fames are Bynum and Gasol. Bynum was Busses pick and Gasol was a nobrain trade. the main problem i have is his contracts he gives out he overpays everyone. Plus he lets to many trades just go by just cuz.. If he was going to sign Blake for 4 mil this year why didnt he bring in Hinrich last year it wouldnt have added any money last year and we wouldnt of lost any talent.

Hinrich is a 9 million a year player. You also have no idea who is making the calls and pulling the strings. There is obviously a reason he is still there.

Mitch is a chance taker. Stop bitching and go jump on the Miami heat bandwagon.

I use to dislike Mitch move before but he has come a long way and like others have said we're B2B and you want to fire him? maybe you'll appreciate him more if we had GM's like the Warriors or the Knicks, dumping players and tanking forever and still got nothing to show for it

Dude are you serious ?

Yes the contracts of Walton and Sasha are bad but Bynum's deal came off the potential he had. You listed Vlad be he got rid of that deal. Quite frankly you're over reacting to nothing. And it's no way in hell you're getting Blake for 500k or less than a mil........what world are you living in man ? So YES teams where going to offer more than that because outside shooting is a premium in the NBA.

Also as far as Drew is concerned the Lakers held the leverage all along, but letting him test the market would've been a risk. See what you have under is teams would've jacked up the price just because it's the Lakers, so the Lakers making the move first put all that to rest.

Stop worrying about what the Heat are doing, they have serious flaws even once they fill out their team. T-Mac will still come here because he's earned $160,273,916 in his career, he don't need the money.

I think the simple answer is...how do you know? How do you know Blake could have been cheaper? How do you know people are willing to take Luke Walton? Nobody even wanted MICHAEL BEASLEY, a former top pick with a similar length and size of the contract. How do you know they dont want to hold Sasha til the trade deadline and use it? How do you know if thats even important? They were called out when they didnt make the move for Hinrich, still won without him.
Chill out on the fire Mitch garbage. Most importantly, there can be 150 deals Mitch was willing to do that Buss may have vetoed, so relax and enjoy the championship feeling.

In Kupchak's defense, Walton was a much better player a few years back. Don't know what happened to him. He basically regressed.

you need to look at it in a different manner.

lets be truthful, those TRULY are bad contracts. we are on the hook with luke for several more years.

HOWEVER, despite that, we are back to back champions.

we have a new threat though in miami. so now we must move forward on that, and regardless of who we place in the guard position, NO ONE is going to stop a guard tandem of dwayne wade and lebron james. period. end of story. doesnt matter who we stick back there, they will get taken to the woodshed. if kobe guards 1, the other will go off for massive points.

so it doesnt matter who we put in the guard position.

walton is already looking like more a assistant coach of bryan shaw than a lakers player, btw he looks better with the playbook in his hands then with the lakers jersey lol

Grant HIll and Tracy Mac ended up fulfilling virtually none of the hype involved when they joined Orlando years ago due to injuries...but those were not bad signings at the time, just bad contracts later.

It does make me feel good about this "trio" and remembering when HIll and Mac went there and found a way to make it not work. Go Lakers!

Back to back working on a 3PEAT I think he has done quite well I mean he didn't just go out and stack his team with 3 top 10 players we earned our title and the 3rd one will be the sweetest
