Miami 2010-2011 Salary Numbers

Post#1 » by anotherhomer » Sat Jul 10, 2010 4:05 am

I have an interest in how the numbers are going to work out for the Miami Heat.
Salary Cap is 58.044.

Maybe this could be stickied and updated later on:
1. Mario Chalmers - .854 M
2. James Jone (Buyout) - 1.55 M
3. Chris Bosh - 14.5 M
4. Lebron James - 14.5 M
5. Dwyane Wade - 14.2 M
6. Mike Miller - 5.15 M
7. Joel Anthony - 1.06 M
8. (min hold) - .4736
9. (min hold) - .4736
10. (min hold) - .4736
11. (min hold) - .4736
12. (min hold) - .4736
13. (min hold) - .4736

Total - 55.12923 M of 58.044

Left - 2.914772 M

Note: A 5 year deal starting 5.15 M with 8% raises totals 29.9 M.

Regarding Holds - For each player a team is short of 13 (the minimum number of players), a minimum hold of $473604 will be placed for that person. Since Miami is short 6 people so far, that would be 6 x the minimum salary.

What about the Anthony offer? Isn't that like 1.5 mil? They got about 6 million left after that, is that enough to sign Haslem?

Why didnt you belive me when I told you that the only way it would work is if they all took an Arenas type deal in the 14 million dollar range?

I posted the numbers already. Why didnt you believe me? You know I never lie.

5. Dwyane Wade - 14.2 M
6. Mike Miller - 5 M

Total - 50.604 M of 58.044

Left - 7.44 M

So this leaves 7.44M for someone. It be more than enough to resign Haslem plus someone else.

Note: A 5 year deal starting 5 M with 8% raises totals 29M. Not counting Joel Anthony and assuming he's renounced.

If those numbers are in fact correct the roster holds are still in effect. $473,604 per.

50,604,000+437,604x6= 53,229,624...

4.8 million in cap space.

Edit x7 dont feel like redoing the math

Anthony's hold is 1M but i'm assuming they probably renounce him. Everything counts. Can't believe Jones 1.55 M buyout can make a difference.

lmao. as a heat fan seeing Bosh, James, and Wade on the same roster is the equivalent to being on cloud 9. Like LeBron said, you could have Riley suit up for that squad and still win easily.

When did I say I didn't believe you?

I just said Arenas was never a max player in the first place... He's a fugazi star'. Word to Rashard Lewis and Michael Redd.

I have a question (Sorry to bold, but it's been bothering me/confusing lol)

1.) I think all 3 of the guys have an ETO after 4 years. Is it likely that they would use this option?
2.) Do we have their contracts on our books for 6 years?

Thanks!

7. Joel Anthony's qualifying offer = $1.06m
plus 4 players worth $0.473m each =$1.892m

total 50.754m + 1.06 + 1.892 =$53.706m

left 58.044 - 53.706 =$4.33m

I think that Haslem salary

If i'm not mistakes options can only be placed 1 year before the end of a contract.

 You know Arenas >>>Rashard,Redd,Joe Johnson,Rudy Gay

But anyway, I see what you mean. But I posted the numbers ALREADY hours ago and everyone is acting all surprised when the contract details finally came out. A prop to you for believing me but the writing was on the wall.

So we basically have them 4 years if they decide to use the ETO, and 5 if not? Obviously if we win, I'm pretty sure they will resign. I doubt they want to switch teams/cities over and over again.

I think that Haslem salary

Then Fisher is out, how the veteran minimum work can they still get arroyo on a veteran minimum?

Larry Coon (?) says we have a little over 8M in space...So with Miller's contract, Haslem would have to take a little less than 4 million/yr?

I'd take Haslem back (If he wants to come back) over any PG/SG/SF. IMO we can get those covered in terms of back-up's easily via vets.

Numbers updated for now. So far there's 2.91M left...if they renounce Joel Anthony, they have 3.51 M left......i have a feeling Mike Miller may need to take a paycut

You incur roster charges up to 12 not 13, but 13 is the minimum amount of players you need on a roster.

Yeah weird I know, but you can double-check Larry Coon's CBA guide if you don't believe me.

Image

edit1: Whoops I have to update Jones' buyout numbers...
edit2: And if Miller's contract is for $25 million not $30 million I have that wrong too...

I really am impressed with Riley's GM'ing this is amazing cap management.
