Third Place game: Deutschland vs Uruguay

Post#1 » by edfmx86 » Wed Jul 7, 2010 8:41 pm

I think Germany goes all attack to help Klose get the record. I wonder if Uruguay even wants to play this game.

This will probably be better than the Final. Suarez back in makes this a very interesting game. I'll take Germany, but expect a very open and relaxed game.

I agree with Adam. I think this'll be more entertaining than the final itself. With that said, I expect Germany to win, but I want Uruguay to win, they deserve some good fortune for their part in the WC.

BTW, I can't believe the WCs gonna finish this Saturday, I feel sad.

Go Uruguay :) You can do it :)

Germany is definitely the better team... but you can never count Diego Forlan, aka Magic Man, aka Twinkle Toes, aka Sweet Football Hair, aka The Best Thing Since Fire, aka my main man crush at the moment, and his trusty sidekick Sweet Suarez the Flopping Kid out of any game.

Löw should bench Klose out of respect for the beauty of the game and 'the record'. ;)

I honestly couldn't care less about who's gonna win but I want Klose to get the record now.

Yeah. These two are my favorite teams in the tournament, so I don't mind who wins as long as Ronaldo keeps the record.

Well, this is the losers game, so winning the losers game is always important. I think Germany will focus on making Klose the all-time World Cup scorer.

But Uruguay has been the surprise team, the dark horse, and I'm pretty sure that it's more important for them to win 3rd place than Germany.

Hopefully we see a good game.

4 years ago, we played all our bench players. I think it's been pretty much confirmed that Wiese will replace Neuer and I think both Tasci and Aogo, who haven't seen action so far, will also play. Marin will get subbed in and probably Kießling.

These games usually see quite a bunch of goals (Turkey-Korea in 2002), but aren't really hard fought. 3rd place or 4th, what difference does it make...

I guess Jogi will try to celebrate some ball movement to finish the tournament and get Klose his one (or two) goals this way.

Uruguay takes this easily. Third place games mean a lot more to small nations than they do to big ones.

Heh... Klose is injured, will not play. Lahm has the flu . Hajo Butt will replace Neuer... Jogi really hates Wiese, which is understandable, but a bit surprising to do it so obviously.

Official lineup will be announced in an hour, so far it looks like:

------------Butt------------
Boateng-Merte-Friedrich-Aogo
-------Schwein.-Khedira-----
Müller-----Özil------Poldi
----------Cacau-------------

Tasci, Marin and Kießling will get subbed in.

BILD, which is usually very well informed when it comes to these things, has Jansen playing for Podolski and Lahm for Boateng.

MULLER!!

If Muller would have played against Spain, Germany would have been playing tomorrow night instead.
