didn't think about this until you mentioned it.

It was staged

Man I'm am really rooting for this team to fail now.

The question is though, is that why was Pat Riley in on it while another team (say Knicks) were not? Knicks could have used Gallo and Chandler to get rid of curry.

i dont think..thats quite relevant....because he could have just changed his number upon arriving to the new team anyways

The Heat and Tampering

Post#22 » by INKtastic » Sun Jul 11, 2010 1:38 am

Wade, Riley and Arison have been orchestrating this for years. This Brian Windhorst article gets into some of the details of the tampering that went on

During a rally for Miami Heat fans Friday night, Chris Bosh said he'd been talking with new teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade about the moment for months.

It was a slip, which some -- including Bosh -- quickly noticed. Bosh's statement hinted there was a long-standing plan in place to gather in Miami. That potentially would not only be against NBA rules, but also poor taste -- considering Bosh and James were supposedly completely focused on the task at hand with teams in Toronto and Cleveland.

Bosh quickly revised the statement and said they'd been talking about it for "days." But it was hardly correct. The truth is James, Bosh and Wade had been plotting this for years.

So?

Players can't want to play with each other? As long as Riley or Arison wasn't talking to Bosh or James directly there's nothing wrong with it imo or anything that can be done.

Didn't Phil Jackson get fined for simply saying that he wants Bosh on the Lakers?
He didn't even talk to Bosh directly.

That's a coach talking abut a player and not player to player. These guys aren't supposed to be friends or talk to each other? Good luck with that, Big Brother.

so where is the tampering?

the free agent summit was not tampering. Players are allowed to talk about where they want to play, and if they want to play with one another

the only evidence the article suggests is that Arison Jr. was a intern during the team USA things, but doesnt go any further. And then the talking James into honoring Jordan and not wearing 23, which has nothing to do with free agency.

it mainly says the three gave hints about possibly teaming up, and Riley, the Knicks, and others took notice and cleared space, with Riley doing it best and clearing the most room, creating the only team where the obvious desires could be possible. That isnt tampering, thats getting the job done well

Yea but what if Wade comes back "talking" to Lebron and Bosh about joining forces and slips it to Riley? Then Riley hears it and proceeds to cut every salary?

Thank you for proving my Heat point lol, to prove the all other teams will think this is awful point I will go ahead and say how could Bron concentrate on winning with Cleveland when he was already planning on the Miami three?

What I meant is that even if Riley or Arison didn't talk to Bosh directly, it could be tampering (not sure though cause I didn't hear anything about Riley doing anything).

Besides, coaches and players can't be friends? :)

Riley has been planning on having this much $$ to spend when he traded Shaq for Marion. Other GM's caught on the year after and started doing the same.

Any discussion at all of their joining together in Miami from the time they entered the league until July 1st, 2010 is tampering by Wade. Any involvement by Riley or Arison is also tampering.

they all signed the same contracts to be fa at the same time after teaming up and enjoying playing together overseas

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know they might want to play together in the future, and the Heat were not the only team to take notice and clear cap. The Heat had an advantage though with Shaq and Wade's salary both ending in 2010. The other pieces were not too hard to move
