Nah not really. Miller and Haslem are both getting near 5 million. We could have kept Beas and still had the space necessary to sign Miller, or at the worst had to renounce Joel for a little bit extra room. This is because the cap was 2 million higher than we thought it'd be, along with the big 3 taking paycuts.

The thing i still don't understand here is that Haslem apparently is still undecided about weather to sign with the Heat for so much less money than the other offers on the table. It appears with the contracts that the big 3 signed, we had enough to sign Miller. So we are essentially trading away Beasley for cap space to sign Haslem ... but he's not sure yet if he's staying?

So if Haslem decides to take the bigger paycheck we will be left with no Beasley and $4MM in cap space. We'll have just traded Beasley for cap space that we didn't need for the Big 3. That's pretty weird (unless Wade hates beasley so much he just told Riley to get rid of him regardless of the money). I'm assuming we have a verbal from UD or this stuff really makes no sense.

Well as much as it hurt's to lose Beasley how would he have fit in Miami ? To me bringing back Haslem is a must one of Wade's friends Dorell already signed with Golden State I wanna bring back Udonis and Q-Rich. Also Pat was shopping Haslem but who care's a lot of player get shopped around but if they come back it doesn't matter this same Pat RIley told Wade to wait till 2010 and look who he got as teammates.

Pat was shopping Haslem and yet who got traded?

I still cannot understand why people want to wait for Beasley to come around, dude is NOT MENTALLY STRONG.

We are trying to win NOW. We need consistent people off the bench

Beas here would have been no more than a 4th option and likely 5th with Miller. He would have self destructed and perhaps actually attempted suicide.

UD has proven time and again how reliable, efficient and big-time he is when it matters. He was one of the biggest parts of our game 6 win in the finals. He is the needed same role as guys like Horry and Horace Grant were on their teams. I am genuinely surprised Orlando didn't jump all over him on day 1 of free agency as, imo, he was the missing ingredient for them, not a back-up point guard.

gotta go with UD...

Need players on a championship team that does the little things to get rings...Beasley does not do that..

I rather have Bosh than Beasley! :)

I'd pick UD. Beasley can shine elsewhere.

Beasley is and obviously will be the better player. But for this team, for so many reasons Haslem is a better fit.

I would take Charles Barkley at age 47 RIGHT NOW over Beasley.

Haslem IS Miami Heat basketball. I'm not saying he is our best player by any means, but he embodies the so-called Heat culture MUCH more than Beasley. Then again, as soon as you guys saw my user-name, you knew who I was going to vote for

But seriously, Haslem is a MUCH better fit for this current team than Beasley. Beas wanted to be the man, now he has got his chance in Minnesota. UD knows his role, and isn't going to complain about it.

Sure UD played poorly in the playoff's, but let's not act like Beasley was anything special either. As a vet, I'd trust UD over Beasley any day.

I don't think Beasley complained publicly, but I'm pretty sure he was unhappy with his role here, and it would have only gotten worse with LeBron/Bosh joining.

Finally, before some of the Beasley contingent jumps on me, with this current team give me UD. If Wade had left and we struck out, let UD go elsewhere, and keep Beasley.

Edit:
Let me add, I don't blame Beasley for wanting to be the man. I'm not sure if he can be the man on a winning team, but that's another story. There were rumors/reports out of Chicago that Rose did NOT want LeBron to join his team, because he would be overshadowed. Some said he preferred Joe Johnson and was nonchalant trying to recruit LeBron via text messaging. At their age (Approx 21) I don't blame them for trying to see how far they can go on their own.

Beasley, not because i think he'd be a good fit, but because Haslem has no use on this team, what an earth do we need a bit of undersized grit for? What we need is a big defensive presence, not a guy that is going to push Bosh into more minutes at Center, just so he can get his minutes. Can you imagine Spo having him on the floor to end games for another season? Because frankly i couldn't bear it, i really hope he signs elsewhere, and we use the money on a PG.

Haslem must have the best PR guy in the world, seriously.

I voted for Beasley for the following reasons:

- Can play two positions, SF and PF

- Is younger and has a greater upside

- Has no trade value now which means anything he can do to improve will allow us to move him in the future and get something of value back more than a second round pick.

- He has an outside shot unlike Haslem which would open up the floor for Wade and Lebron

- Having Lebron and Bosh can only help him mature and improve as those players will make him better

- As he gets older, he will hopefully mature.

- Imagine having his firepower coming from the bench when two of the three stars are sitting.

Ask Dirk about UD's undersized grit. And next summer, ask Odom, Artest and Gasol.

What difference does it make if Beasley can play SF? We have LeBron freakin James now and he's going to be playing 40+ mins a game at SF. Then we also have Mike Miller who will be backing him up there. We will probably be signing a min guy like Q to provide additional depth there. Beasley would've been sstuck backing up Bosh for maybe 10 -15 mins a game, further diminishing his value. Let him go to Minny where he can chuck all the shots he wants and lead that team back to the lottery. Haslem has proven that he can play minutes at the 5, so him and Bosh will see plenty of time on the court together.

There is no question who we should stick with. HASLEM! (it also helps that i actually have a signed jersey of his hehe)

James Posey laughs at that statement

Beasley isn't a better defender than Haslem so why even bring that up?

lol, i'm sure Gasol is shaking in fear. And btw Dirk averaged 23/11/3 in the finals, with James Posey doing most of the good work on him, Haslem just kept fouling and sending him to the line.

Get off this board for sheer blasphemy. That is an outright lie.
