anybody for getting Al Harrington?
hes a great shooter and a tough guy. i think he would be a great stop gap PF for us until Favors can be the starter. he says he has 5 good years left i would definitely give him a shot if his asking price isnt too high

I'd prefer not to touch ex-knicks garbage. D'Antoni is a master and instilling bad habits into players.

Al Harrington was already Al Harrington before D'Antoni. Ask Nellie.

He's one of the biggest black holes in the league. Talented but not a winner.

Say no to the chucker. We are trying to develop young players no destroy them. All Harrington does is look to get his, not the type of guy we need to pick up.

Why not go for a cheaper option in Antoine Walker, I think he could use some extra cash.

Re: anybody for getting Al Harrington?
I guess I am in denial
...Lets play devils advocate here...
say we could get him for nothing, lets be resonable, if you had a gun to your head and had to offer him a contract, what would it be???...(3 yr deal frontloaded)
Al's downfall is he got forced into offensive systems, which developed bad habbits...he's always had too much freedom and has yet to play in a system which is more structured...
As far as his GS years, again too much freedom started this mess then he got injured...with the Knicks during 08-09, he scored almost 21pts off of less than 17fgs attempts in 35min...he's a good 3pt shooter can stretch the defense with Brook (better than Yi)...Small minutes high production type of player...he's basically a 17pts 6reb 2ast 1stl player while averaging 2 TOs...his defense is lacking, maybe avg at best...but he was never truly forced to play defense with previous teams...I think he's capable defender that needs to commit himself on the defensive end (w/the help of Avery)
I'm not a fan of Al, soft spot for the Orange, NJ native, but the price would have to be right... There is a possibility he would fit well with us, knowing his role and while having no problem coming off the bench when Favors gets inserted...
As much as I am hopeful with my arguement, I think some negative statements made here are exaggerated...
Remember I'm playing devil's advocate, with a favorable contract for us...

If he's going to sign somewhere for cheap I think it would be Miami not us even though he is a NJ native.

Miami will not sign him. Dallas sounds right. If he gets a contract offer!
