Official Thread - Clippers vs Wizards SL (7/12/10)

Following an apparently sometimes sloppy, but promising win, YOUR Washington Wizards hit the Vegas Summer League for a second game in a row. This time, versus the Los Angeles Clippers.

Apparently, John Wall had a good debut - though committing 8 turnovers. And apparently, Javale McGee had a good game as well. And apparently, we like Booker too.

I use the word "apparently" because I'm in Chicago on business and the rest of the board didn't do a really good job of keeping folks like me - who couldn't see the game - updated with descriptive posts.

Just for that, I have a big surprise for all of you at the bottom of this post. bwahahah.

--------------

-- Can the Wizards pick up their second win in a row in Summer League?

-- Can Wall play at a high level while minimizing turnovers?

-- Who will step up from among the unsigned summer league invitees to snare a Wizards roster spot in the regular season?

Put your thoughts, opinions, and predictions here.

Oh, and because you guys didn't do a good job updating the game thread with descriptive posts, here is your "surprise treat" from me in Chicago. Enjoy.

Pine, I had a nightmare. Evadney got a hold of me and she wouldn't let me up. ...

And hers was bigger than mine ...

And damn, that's when I woke up, hollering and screaming. I swear I felt like Ned Beatty hearing banjo music. Evadney scares me, man.

A lot of the comments about the game were lost in the chat pine. You could have gone in there and gotten more description of the game.

Predictions:

Furious dunking by JaWall.

Wiz 145, LA JV 36.

Blatche propositions Andrea, using crutches to try to arouse sympathy. Is rejected. In response, Nick Young grins goofily for 90 minutes.

I think it could be interesting to see Wall up against his former teammate Eric Bledsoe. They should have fun going head to head, I assume they got a lot of burn against each other in practice at UK. Many people believe that Bledsoe really would have been a star if it weren't for Wall moving Bledsoe to the 2 at UK.

I guess Griffin isn't playing, but it would have been cool to see him and Warren reunited. I guess we will soon enough.

I think Wall will still wrack up around 5-6 TOs, but I think he will play with the 2-4Quarter efficiency that he had last game. He won't be nervous in a second straight outing.

Booker, Martin, and McGee will help Wall carry this team to undefeated in the Summer League. I feel it.

I missed the last game due to work. Really looking forward to seeing Wall in action.

For the record, I see his turnovers being very low tonight. If he's as good as advertised (and I believe he is), then he possesses the skill of adjusting on the fly between games. He might be a bit too cautious but on the whole, I think he'll have an efficient, low-turnover game.

I'm not taking any chances.

pine, Wall looks awesome tonight. He seems to have gotten over the opening night jitters and is playing more under control in his second game. 9 points, 4 assists, and just 2 TOs in the first half.

Cartier Martin had a sweet move to the basket for an and-1 but missed the FT. Also hit a 3, looks promising. I hope we keep this kid around.

Clearly Blake Griffin punked out, not wanting to have to go up against JaVa. McGee had an incredible block on Aminu, but Al-Farouk has some serious hops of his own. Still think he was a reach at 8, glad we didn't have to make that pick.

Gotta find a way to get Hudson on the team this year. 8 points in the first half, has been the best running mate for Wall. Booker's a beast, but I still suspect he'll have to play most of his minutes at SF.

Look out! It's a Greek Shaq sighting! (remember him? Don't worry, you'll be able to forget him again soon.)

Randle keeps pounding the ball and jacking shots. Gonna have to look for that backup PG among the vet scrap heap. Wish we could see more Hamady. Hard to get a read on him in such limited minutes. Altered a few shots so far, but no offical blocks yet.

And pine, whatever you do - don't look at the time stamp. Those things never seem to line up anyway! I really am typing this live during the game, I promise! Just no more LuvaBulls, please!

(And really - I think it's pretty safe that the above will be at least 80% accurate...)
