Time to turn the Summer around

now that Boozer is gone (not a big loss in my mind), Korver is gone (small loss) and Matthews should be allowed to go to portland or traded to a rich team like the Knicks or Nets bc he is NOT worth that type of money..

Jazz have 2 POSSIBLE moves:
(1) Play with what they got and let AK-47 expire and basically play for 2011-2012 season; or
(2) Make a gambling type trade taking on future salary while filling holes. I do this trade even though their contracts are expensive. GSW for sale and trying to get rid of big long term contracts likely do this.

AK-47, Kosta and 2 future lottery protected #1 picks for Biedrens and Monta Ellis

Jazz lineup:
PG Williams Price (Ellis plays some PG as well)
SG Ellis Brewer (sign him) Hayward
C Biedrens Memo Fess (sign him if reasonable)
PF Millsap Memo Augustine Evans
SF Miles Brewer Hayward

This is actually a better team than last year but will miss one of the players that left the team..NOT Boozer or Korver BUT AK-47 but Haywards development could ease that pain

I would do it for the Memphis Pick... I like it all around though. Pretty solid. Keeps a very solid rotation. Not a great shooting lineup, is my only gripe.

To help shooting maybe go after Roger mason instead of Brewer but outside would be below average but Biedrens shot blocking and Memos shooting off the bench plus ellis ability to create his own shot makes the Jazz a tough out in the playoffs

No way the Jazz trade for Ellis. He just doesn't fit the Jazz's system at all and he'd overlap way too much with Deron. I can't see either one of them being very happy playing together.

On top of all that I don't think Ellis is a winning player. He gets his but I don't think he contributes much to a team's overall success.

I see your point but I dont think the Jazz can get Biedrens without taking on Ellis. Offensively would not be a problem as DWILL always has the ball. Defensively Ellis is to short to guard some taller guard but DWILL can switch over to them.

Its a definite gamble but I dont like the alternative of waiting for 2011-2012 to put a team togther or otherwise patchwork a team together by adding fillers to the bench and over-paying for matthews.

30+ million in the starting backcourt? HELL NO. Jazz don't run a bunch of ISO crap Mont IMO would be a very poor fit for the Jazz.

Ellis is NOT a Jazz type player. He also has a nightmare of a contract.

We the Jazz FO have 7 days to sign player/s to fill Matthews' position.

If they havent signed anyone within the next week they cant take the risk and have to match the offer sheet from Portland. Lets see what happens.

I forgot about McGrady! I genuinely hope the Jazz are at least talking to him. I think he'd love to play for a contender and with Williams and Millsap. I imagine right now would be the time to get him at the best value.

I also like House coming off the bench. Gives us some outside shooting back after losing KK.
