Are you folks interested in acquiring Shaq?

Post#1 » by dunleavyjr » Tue Jan 8, 2008 3:47 am

Are you folks interested in acquiring Shaq? Shaq still has 1 or 2 years left. He can win a championship with LeBron. Of course, he would come with a huge contract, but for a championship ring, this is a risk you folks might wanna take.

Cleveland Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -2.2 ppg, +0.1 rpg, and -1.0 apg.

Incoming Players
Dorell Wright
6-8 SF from Leuzinger (HS)
7.0 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.1 apg in 23.2 minutes

Shaquille O'Neal
7-1 C from Louisiana State
14.0 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.3 apg in 28.4 minutes

Outgoing Players
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
7-3 C from Lithuania (Foreign)
13.6 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 1.1 apg in 31.2 minutes

Larry Hughes
6-5 SG from St. Louis
9.6 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.3 apg in 27.9 minutes

Miami Trade BreakdownChange in Team Outlook: +2.2 ppg, -0.1 rpg, and +1.0 apg.

Larry Hughes
6-5 SG from St. Louis
9.6 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.3 apg in 27.9 minutes

Outgoing Players

Shaquille O'Neal

Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Cleveland and Miami being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Cleveland and Miami had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

What makes you think Shaq is still a championship caliber player ???

Shaq hasn't played basketball at a high level for over a year and a half...

Pros:

1. You can get rid of Larry Hugh
2. You get Wright who is an outstanding defender
3. Shaq gives you low post presence (50% FG), better than Z shooting 15 feet jumpers

BTW, I do it...

I like D-Wright, and I hate L-Hughes..

I think it'd be good for our future here.
