Diaw & Chandler To Toronto For Calderon & ?

Post#1 » by darth_federer » Mon Jul 12, 2010 5:00 am

The Suns would send seven-year veteran guard Leandro Barbosa and late-season addition Dwayne Jones to Toronto for Turkoglu, a 6-foot-10 forward from Turkey with versatile skills to shoot from long range and be a playmaker. Toronto would then move Jones and its trade exception from the Chris Bosh sign-and-trade deal to Charlotte for former Suns forward Boris Diaw.

Thought I would share. We have a glut of PF's on our roster, so Im not sure how this would work out. You guys want Calderon?

uhm, no? And I'm sure LB doesn't want him either.

But it would be awesome if we could get the TPE for Diaw.

The only reason why James left Cavs its because they didn't get Calderon... Trust me, you guys should trade for him!!!

Only question is what would we do after, if we did TPE for Diaw?

Man I had hoped so bad that we would dump Calderon....

Dwayne Jones would go to TOR in the Barbosa-Turkoglu trade but then TOR would send him w/the Bosh trade exception to CHAR for Boris Diaw.

Can you guys paint a report of Borris Diaw ? I'm a Raptors fan and just curious ...

Didn't envision the TPE to be spent on another PF, but Calderon for Diaw makes sense. I don't know whether to be excited or not.

A detailed scouting report would be nice.

Diaw lacks the killer instinct, but he's a talented player. Boxes out, but doesn't rebound. Can guard undersized Cs or slower forwards. High BBIQ, but again, no killer instinct. Good shooter with 3 point range, but no killer instinct. Very right handed. More than capable point forward. Suns fans told us he'd be great the first year and frustrating the second. Fortunately for Raptor fans, the second year is a contract year, so maybe you get two solid years from him. He's not overpaid because of his talents or physical attributes, but because of his mental approach to the game. You'll love him or hate him.

TPE or Calderon?

Post#12 » by damadmonk » Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:17 am

Raps fan here...

I think the best trade for both parties would be;

Charlotte gets;
Calderon + Evans

Toronto gets;
Diaw + Mohammed

It's a win/win situation for both parties.

Charlotte gets a starting PG and a solid backup PF (that Brown has coached).

Toronto gets Diaw, who replaces Turk and can play solid defense and PF. We also get a backup Center which Charlotte has nearly $14 million worth of backups.

I don't see Charlotte getting a better PG with the potential TPE than Calderon...

^ Whatever the salary difference in the trade is. If it's Diaw and no one else, then 9mill. If it's Diaw for this kid they're mentioning (who makes close to a mill), then the TPE is about 8mill

I'd rather trade Diaw for the TPE. Then we could trade the TPE for Ford of the Pacers!

Nah I would pass, don't want calderon Plus we can get a better player for Nazrs expiring & we need to develop DJ.. .Calderon would only slow it down

Besides I think some bobcats fans agree that they would rather have DJ start then Jose

He will be the best player on the floor in some games and a total no show in others. He is good for about 2 near triple doubles 23 other great games 15 terrible games and the rest will be about his averages. He plays good D, being good at both help and on ball, but great at neither. He can play almost any position on the floor which makes him a great utility man.

Calderón? Simply stop trying, please.

And there is a trade and transaction board for this type of nuisance.

I like it. If nothing more Jones will be pushing Lexy in practices. TPE is nice, either for PG right now or for later purposes. Well, even for getting AJ it could be a plus.
