The reason to do it as a sign and trade would be to give Miller 10.5% raises so that they can start him at a lower salary to reserve their cap space for other guys.

I was assuming a Miller S&T would be part of the Beasley to MIN deal. I do not see the Beasley deal as being officially completed, so that may be why.

I posted something similar last week but thought I'd seen where the Beasley trade was official. If it's not, then I agree with you 100%.

The Hinrich deal is the only transaction listed on NBA.com for the Wizards. LeBron is the only one listed for Miami.

Is there a better source for transactions?

I'm a little unclear on how a J-Ho S&T for Sheed would work. If Sheed retires, what's the impact on our cap? I also notice he has a trade kicker. What's the impact of that?

What if Sheed decides not to retire and we're stuck paying him?

If we have to carry Sheed on our cap this year, a second rounder isn't worth it to me. It wold have to be a first, and given Boston's age, I doubt they're dealing firsts.

OTOH, with Tony Allen leaving, Howard seems like a great option for them to back up the 2 and 3, and I think that would be a really attractive spot for Howard. They'd need another big and to hope like all hell that Perk can get truly healthy for the playoffs. But if things fall into place, they could win the whole thing again.
