We're going to regret trading Calderon, but we do have a big chip left to play to find a good starting PG. This is high risk stuff, but BC is a risk taker. Unfortunately my bet is that this one is going bite us in the butt.

I also think we'll regret trading Calderon; the guy is a much better player than people give him credit for. But, it had to be done; his contract was just so bad.

I'll miss Calderon too, he was my favourite player for a little while. He hasn't been the same since his litany of minor injuries and we're paying him too much now that Jack is here and producing on the same level he is. I hope he has success in Charlotte (but not too much success because then we'll be kicking ourselves).

Here's the thing. Jack had a career year last year, and he was about on par with Calderon having a bad year. Jack is a great guy, but on the court he's the very definition of mediocrity. He's never made the playoffs as a starting PG and I don't think he ever will. He makes too many bad turnovers and takes too many bad shots, and has too many bad games in general. A starting PG like that will bring the rest of the team down to his level, mediocrity.

If you want one that can happen, make sure Banks the guy who goes to Charlotte, not Evans, then send Chandler and Evans to Denver for K-Mart (injured) and Lawson. No downstream tax issues there as K-Mart is a final year contract.

Why would Denver do that though? Is KMart got a season ending injury already? If not they would be losing two contributing players to their lineup.

Chandler is insurance in case KMart is injured (seems pretty often)...which allows Denver to stay competitive this season without mortgaging the farm to pick up another big. Chandler, Nene and birdman is a pretty good backcourt. They do have to keep Melo happy, after all.

I know we're all happy that we may not use the TPE in these deals, but that doesn't mean we're going to use it to take in long term contracts. Okafor+ Collison takes us deep into the tax and we're not even a playoff team.

If we want Collison, maybe there's a deal we could do with Peja attached instead of Okafor. Peja is an expiring contract so we'd clear Chandler/Peja at the end of the year.
