He still has 4 years left on his contract. I'd rather just stick with lee.

Now all we need is a starting quality PF and we're set for a good playoff team.

Why would you want to go in the play-offs?

You play to win the game!! HELLO??!! YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!! You dont play to just play it. Thats the great thing about sports. You play to win, and I dont care if you dont have any win, you play to win. When you start telling me it doesnt matter, just retire. Get out. Because it matters. So, I, you know, that that that that, that that, this whole conversation bothers me.

Get me Haslem, that man will be a perfect fit with lopez. Plays tough defense, rebounds, hits open jumpers, can score around the rim, and doesn't force up anything. Very underrated player, and i think he can be a great influence on favors and teach him some things.

He's not worth more then Humphries and a 2nd rounder...

Edit: Just noticed you had a pick coming back. Still don't like adding the extra long term salary now that we've made 2 senseless signings.

Another one of those stuck in mediocrity people, this stuff runs rampant on the other site and I just can't understand it.

This.

A lot of our deals right now are deals that come off the books in 2013. Bass comes off the books at that time too. He makes a flat 4 mill a year the next 3 years. Though I am not high on him, I also don't hate him, but I'm not giving up any solid value for him. I actually think Hump/2nd is too much value. I don't think Hump is better for us than Bass. They are similar players. Though Bass is more talented, Hump would outhustle him and I truly think he'd be better for us than Bass.

If we add one more guy, I think I'd take a look at Leon Powe. A guy like Bass I could totally see getting pissy if we went through a few stretches where we wanted to get Favors on the court for a large amount of time to see how he's developing. Powe should be 100% now, will come cheap, is a high character guy, has a great bball IQ and knows what it takes to win as well. I'd rather give him 3 years 12 mill than take on Bass's 3yrs/12 mill contract if I HAD to spend that money. I actually think we could get Powe for less and get more productivity out of him.

I like Powe a lot as well, but signing him for anything over vet minimum is foolish to say the least.

i dont know if your serious or just making fun of herm edwards. but if your serious then i gotta disagree.. 8th seeded playoff teams dont win championships. Your better off missing the playoffs and getting high potential players in the lottery than going to the playoffs just to be a 1st or 2nd round exit. If your going to rebuild might as well save money and get higher draft picks with all star potential than overpay mediocre players and have a mediocre 6-8th seeeded playoff team thats going to be an early exit year after year.

I think it depends on the team actually. For a team like chicago that made the playoffs as an 8th seed with their young talent...advising them to tank for a super star would probably be counter productive. I think it'd be best for them to keep building like they have been.

For a team in our situation, you obviously start the season with a winning mentality see how far we could go. If by some miracle we slide into the 8th spot then yeah, I say you build on that, maybe try and land a star through free agency or trade next season. If it looks like we're panning out for 30-37 wins or so then it might be in our best interest to let the young guys play and live with the results...which would probably lands us a good place into the lottery. So it really comes down to this if we can make the playoffs then go for it, if not just let the young guys play and look ahead to the draft...Just my 2 cents.

*sigh* I do miss Herm Edwards.

But I don't have a clue if you're serious or not.

Obviously, the problem is we don't have that Derrick Rose yet. Yes we have Brook Lopez and other great young talent but even with Brook, we were a 12-win team last year. Whereas the Bulls made the play-offs last year. So that's a huge difference(don't worry, I'm just using your quote to back up my next statement). We were a 12-WIN TEAM. I'd rather suck now and land a top pick hoping for somebody like a Wall, Rose, or even a Lebron of the upcoming drafts then build from there. Bare in mind we also have the great pieces in Brook, Twill, Favors etc etc etc

yeh he's serious...

I like how Thorn put it..."...he'll be an excellent compliment to Devin the in the backcourt", yeh, coming off the bench...

I'm not a big Famar fan, but he's solid, knows how to play the game...besides falling in love with the 3...and he's tradeable, if need be...

Powe > Bass you make some solid points, I just cant see us signing these guys, especially because they might start... I actually rather see the black hole start...

Black hole needs to come off the bench. Lopez needs to be the focal point of the offensive first team, with black hole providing the inside punch for the 2nd team.
