Mascot beat me with Chicago. Anyway, for a change I would rather sit out this game and act as Commish.

I think we were going to give mj another shot at commish since he wanted to do last game and had to stop for a family emergancy. If not you would be a great commish!

I will take a chance with OKC! I assume we will not be starting this till closer to training camp when teams are filled in real life.

Edit: scrap that, I'd rather try to achieve something with New Orleans instead :)

We mos def want teams to get filled out 1st. I started this thread so we could get things rolling bit by bit so when the time comes to start everything will be sussed out and the GMs will be ready to roc.

Please read ALL the way through OP before posting.

Remember those tests where the 1st rule was to read all the way through and the very last thing said to skip all the questions and just sign your name?

Yep, that would cut down on clutter.

Next question and biggest problem are we going to make FA signings unable to be traded?

Honestly last game the only reason that I signed Hakim Warrick and Josh Howard was so that I could trade them for a couple of young guys, I never had no intention of NEEDING them.

two ways you can look at this.

1. its a viable strat to sign and trade FAs

2. Its really unfair to the people who want them on their team to fill a need.

I am not making any rules as I feel they should be done by committee. I think trading FAs will be fine this go round. I do feel a wait period of a least 48 hours on FAs to be shipped elsewhere would be decent and no wait period on trading guys you received via trade.

The one thing I would absolutely not budge on is keeping rosters up to date. That is a huge headache for anyone trying to come up with a trade when GMs lag behind on roster updates.

As for commissioner...

I think MJ should get 1st dibs and nba_addict 2nd dibs on that.

IF they want a team then there should be more than one commish. I will gladly help out on that end if needed and SamBone also has offered his help. He is great at noticing roster discrepancies so I would like to see him used in that regard no matter who is commish.

I personally am a believer in the rule that FA's can not be traded after they are signed (unless a S&T is done at time of signing).

Whatever we decide I just want it to stick for the entire game.

2 games ago FAs started off as non tradeable and moves were made with that in mind. Then as FA period came near the rule was changed. That was a mess IMO.

So once we decide on something we need to stick to it. period.
