Just hear me out

Post#1 » by Revolutionistt » Sat Jul 10, 2010 11:25 am

Alright this is gonna sound crazy, but with the big failure known as Summer 2010 the Nets are desperate for some players. Shoot they even missed out on Korver thats how bad this was. Theres two guys still out there that can make this a better team. And before you bash me about "Im not signing those guys because it will delay the young players growing process" (prelude im talking to you), I think these guys can be great mentors to the young players if we can convince them before hand thats going to be part of their responsibility. So tell me, how would you truly feel about this lineup next year:

Harris
Iverson
Mcgrady
Favors
Lopez

Iverson is 35 but his style of play gives him 2 more DECENT years I think (second year with less of a role). Mcgrady is 31, Id say another solid 2 years and another 2 as a serviceable piece. Say what you want but I think just having those names on the team will have opposing teams losing an hour of sleep preparing. And for the younger guys, TWill can still get 30 minutes a game, Lee can still get 30 minutes (although I know alot of people here arent very high on him), James can see some minutes, besides hes a rookie. Unless James really shows flashes of brilliance early on hes probably not gonna see more than 18-20 minutes a game. Again, call me a psycho but what else are they gonna do with the remaining cap space???

I'm more in favor of Mcgrady than Iverson. Simply for chemistry reasons. Doesn't Iverson still need to dominate the ball? And just last year I think he was complaining about his role in Memphis (or wherever he started out). Mcgrady seemed more prepared to take a lesser role. So I say bring him in.

You Are Out of your mind for thinking this bullcrap IMO...but everyones entitled to an opinion...But if youre any kind of NETS fan this does nothing for us.....both players are over the hill and done...they are at the end of their careers....this is a short term solution which we dont need....we need young horses who can mature into stallions....Brook is on that path and T-will is on that path...throw in Favors and D.James and we can be OKC east......Its all about defense and growing together...Iverson a Tmac will stunt our growth

Tmac,Iverson and Marbury are going to end up in Miami for dirt cheap. They're ring chasers not rebuilders.

MARBURY! He would be a PERFECT back-up point guard.

when has iverson ever accepted 'mentoring' a younger player? he wasn't mentoring stuckey in DET. he wasn't mentoring conley in MEM. he wasn't mentoring Lou or Jrue in PHI

Tmac...i dunno
