Question about Ariza..

Post#1 » by nybullsfan55 » Sun Jul 11, 2010 8:26 pm

Bulls fan here. Are you willing to deal Ariza?. We can't offer much maybe James Johnson (our 1st round pick of 2009 a combo forward who had a rough rookie year but is getting in better shape and has potential), future 1st round pick and or a TPE? ....you guys need a little wiggle room to resign Scola and we could help you free up a lttle cash for Brad Miller...we need a long athletic wing defender to help guard Wade and LeBitch in the Eastern Conference.....you guys could add potential assets for future acquisitions (Paul, Carmelo, Granger?)...free up some cash and open playing time for Jermaine and Chase?

We don't need "wiggle room" for Scola. He is a Restricted Free Agent, so we can match any offer he gets. Our owner has made it perfectly clear that he's willing to pay a lot in luxury tax this year, so you are not appealling to a penny-pinching owner.

As for Ariza - yes, there is a possibility that he is traded; but it is not very likely and it would definitely not happen for the package you're proposing. Ariza fits this system very well - especially with Yao coming back and Martin getting into the swing of things; whereas you're offering a young guy who's having a problem fitting in the NBA. Between Patrick Patterson, Jordan Hill & Chase Budinger there would be no need for James Johnson here.

i dont wanna trade ariza or battier, having 2 of the best wing defenders will help a lot. wouldnt trade ariza for james or a pick. after ariza's last season i dont think he should be one of the first to be considered for trades for morey

James Johnson is an undersized PF, we have a lot of PF depth as is. Ariza is a bargain for the MLE compared to some of the signings this year, who is above average in many categories and excellent playing the passing lanes.

Yeah i would say that Ariza is trade-able, but he would be more of a "use him only if you have to kinda guy."

That package is not worth Ariza. A slow, chunky SF and a pick at the 20s is not worth a defensive minded SF that still has room to grow.

I think that has about as much chance of happening as Brooks + Andersen for Rose.
