Odd how the Grizzlies would pay 80+ MILLION DOLLARS to RUDY GAY and then get cheap with their first round pick. It makes no sense.

Henry is a SG, but needs to play SF on defense so he would work well with both Johnson and Webster and would form a killer rotation. Brewer would need to be Jeffersoned as well..

Are we even sure at this point that both Webster and Johnson will beat out Brewer for starter minutes? Not to be macabre here, but I don't think it's certain as to whether these guys can beat out Corey. Even if they are good enough, I don't think Brewer is some sort of throwaway player. Henry hasn't played one NBA game yet.

Finally, you just may live to regret coining the phrase "Jeffersoned."

Regarding future moves, Kahn says, "We’re only about halfway through this exercise." #Wolves

As far as I'm concerned, chaos is staus quo for Heisley.

I've always maintained that teams love to get their picks back, because they have a little more value to them than elsewhere, because they have some control over the value of the pick.

When can the Grizzlies trade Gay?? I would not be shocked if 60 days from now or whenever it is, Kahn trades our newfound cap space for Gay.

Why would you expect the Grizzlies to trade Rudy Gay? If they wanted to trade him, they could have done so before signing him.

Xavier Henry remains unsigned. Apparently Heisley is refusing to pay 120% of the salary scale so Henry is sitting out summer league.

With Gay returning and the Tony Allen signing, I wonder if they would take the pair of future first we got in the Al trade for Henry? Maybe we throw in the low cost Ellington as well?

I like the way you think. I'd give them their pick (via Utah) back, their pick of Brewer/Ellington, and 3 million.

I'd do that for sure. What I'm not sure of is if Memphis would be looking more for a salary dump (which we could help with) and what would make sense for them. Then again, I don't think they're enamored with Conley so maybe Sessions, Ellington, and their pick for Conley and Henry might work as well. Conley expires this year so no big deal for us to take him even though it gives us 3 PG again.

I think something even more interesting than having no player make more than $5 million, is that Ryan Hollins is now the oldest player on the team.

I'd be thrilled if we got Xavier Henry. I was very high on him.

I think Brewer, being on his final year of his rookie contract, is a better candidate to be traded by Khan if he feels that he needs to make room for a SG. Guys like Henry (or Fernandez for that matter), may not require the move, but if we use capspace to get Iguodola, then Brewer or Ellington just have to go... maybe both.

right now we have Johnson/Webster/Brewer/Ellington/some Beasley. Already, Ellington is on the outside looking in as far as minutes are concerned. If we trade Sessions for Henry, then it gets really murky.
