I never said it was. I was pointing out that Hill is a good PF prospect, but not to the level of these higher guys. Much like a guy like Orton is a good center prospect, but not on the level of Gasol, Lopez, or Cousins. I was trying to address your misconception about a "good young center" having to be an elite young center.

I'd maybe do Ariza/filler/NYK 1st at the trade deadline. Depends on how well Iguodala fits in with Turner and how bad the Knicks are.

You mean they're not true C's. Smith is the Okur, Troy Murphy mold of center. Just because he's a little soft doesn't mean he isn't a center. Speights can play both PF and C, he's just not that great at either(unless im mistaken). You want a rebounding, back to basket post scoring, rough defending center. How many real or pure C's are there really? There are only about 5-6 of them in the league (maybe).

Fair enough. Is Orton with Ariza and a pick good enough? If not please tell me the players you have in mind.

If it's Orton, Ariza, Houston's 2011 pick, and NY's 2012 pick, sure thing.

As to Speights and Smith, any team playing them significant minutes at center isn't going to win. I like Hawes and I believe he can be our guy long term, but we still need someone to develop.

This has probably been brought up before, but how about a DeAndre Jordan for Thad Young deal? Contractually it works without having to involve other players.

I was under the impression that Jordan was highly valued over in LA. I'm a big Thad fan, but if we can grab a very promising young center for him we'd do it. The reports out of our front office are that we're trying to do something of the sort.

Plus I like the Clippers and would love to see Thad playing in that lineup.

Jordan is valued highly by the Clips. But seeing as how they really need a starting SF and Sixers could use a young center with potential, it makes sense for both parties.

I wouldn't trade Jordan for Thad, especially because Thad will get overpaid next offseason. Thouugh, I would probably trade Jordan for Philly's 2011 First (Top 3 Protected).

Can we just cut everything out and do Kapono and a 2nd or 2 for Gortat?

Why does Orlando want more than that?

I'd imagine. But in my mind we're set if we could just grab Gortat, then see what we need after half a season.

Does anybody have any interest in Millsap to the Sixers, or would that be too much money tied up between brand and Millsap.

I like the idea of trading Iggy for young player(s) and a TPE, but this scenario could work. It can be two separate trades or a three team trade.

Trade 1
Sixers - Jordan, Ariza, Jeffries, and a pick from Houston
Clippers - Thad and Hill
Rockets - Iggy and/or Smith/Green (if need be)

Fell free to move things around if you think something is little off?

Does any Sixer fan here like Hill more than Speights?

I would do that deal in a second. But unlike most deals I'd do in a second this is pretty fair for everyone.

Thad is going to be very productive this season in a starting roll for a team that needs a SF. I haven't watched Jordan much but know that Philly was interested the year that he was drafted. If he's projecting as a future starter this makes sense. If he's projecting as a future back-up then this doesn't make sense.

I read somehwere in this thread of the Sixersfan Offseason thread you wanted to get more defensive, obtain some exprirings and build for the future. It seems as though Holiday/Turner/Young is your future, possibly Speights in there as well. How about this from the Magic:

to ORL: G/F Andre Igoudala
to PHI: G/F Mickael PIetrus (or C Marcin Gortat) & PF Brandon Bass + draft picks if needed

Pietrus gives you defense that you lose in Igoudala as well as aguys who can kock down the 3 and actually likes coming off the bench. He makes $5.3 mil/year over the next 2, but next year is a player option, so he could possibly not pick it up. Bass adds some bulk behind Brand PF. He's a solid guy, but he isn't used in our system. We've got Ryan Anderson at PF too, who fits in better with the way we play.

You guys:
PG: Jrue Holiday - Lou Williams
SG: Evan Turner - Mickael Pietrus
SF: Thaddeus Young - Jason Kapono
PF: Elton Brand - Brandon Bass
CE: Spencer Hawes/Marreese Speights (or add in Gortat here as well is no Pietrus)
--plus guys like Willie Green, Jodie Meeks, Jason Smith and Andres Nocioni off the bench

Still allows you to have some contracts to deal at the deadline in Kapono and Green, especially since you'd have quite a few wings and they're expiring contracts.

Thought I might throw this out there. No sure if any Orlando fans have posted anything. Do you know if the Philly management would deal Igoudala w/o Brand?
