Now that we have our capspace we could put together a very reasonable offer for this guy. Phili is looking for cap relief, a young big man, and a replacement SF.

This is from their resident insider Sixerfan76:

was told their offer was iguodala and jason smith for ariza, jeffries and jordan hill. Was not told of any picks being involved.

we told them we would get back to them and are still pursuing other options throughout the league involving thad and/or kapono

Now, I think we can fairly easily top that offer with our cap space, future firsts that we just got, Corey Brewer or Webster, and any of Ellington, Hayward, and Koufos.

It would be nice to grab Iggy from them. I would really like to keep Brewer, I think he really made a lot of strides to being that player we drafted him to be.

Utah Pick/Memphis Pick, Pekovic, Ellington, Webster for Iggy, Kapono?

I always considered him to be more of a small forward than a shooting guard, but I think he can fit in the triangle very well.

^ Sg you mean? While I agree that he is more of a sf, there really isn't much of a difference here other then defensively. I wonder if he struggles on defense vs sg's, if so maybe wes can handle that.

Why Iggy? - why not roll the dice with the young guys see who develops until the trade deadline and see who is shopped cheap.

Iggy IMO is not a number 1 option on a championship team. Why give up assets and flexibility for some one who is not the franchise cornerstone?

Iggy would be by far our best wing and we aren't getting a no. 1 option on a championship caliber team for cap space and rotation players like Brewer. That's essentially th same value we traded Jefferson for and we know he is a very good player, but not a no. 1 option on a championship team.

Well he is a plus both on offense, and more importantly defense. He could be a veteran who has played in the playoffs, grown on a younger team, and he's still only 26(?).

I decided to look up his stats at 82 games, and it's actually interesting to see this:(Italics=sg, Underline=SF)

Net 48 Minute Production-+5.2, +2.9
Stats per 48-22.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 8.1 assists, 3.8 Turnovers, 7.2 FT attempts, 17 FG attempts, .512 eFG% 18.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 3.1 Turnovers, 5.8 FT attempts, 16.6 FG attempts, .466 eFG%

So really is he better at SF?

Then the iggy trade is a lateral move: 2 nickel's for a dime then a dime for 10 pennies is the same. why make a change just for changes sake?

^ Roster Balance? Al is a pf, Iggy is a 2. I think Iggy is probably the more valuable player to a team anyway because of his defense.

Because of the make-up of our roster. We have a lot of wings that deserve playing time, but most of them are just rotational players. Meanwhile we have Beasley and Love that can play Al's spot, who both could be very special players. We have a need for Iggy more than Al. Net talent may not make a huge shift, but it all fits together a lot better with Iggy than Al.

Also, to add in. Iggy's 08-09 was beastly at SF.+8.2 net production, and only +.5 at sg...Who knows really.

So you want an already undersized 2nd line-up to become even more undersized by playing Ridnour at the 2?

6"0/6"2/6"7/6"10/6"10 seems very undersized. Especially considering the fact that only Webster is a solid/good defender out of all of these guys. :dontknow:

I think Iggy would be great, his contract is four years long, expires after his 29 year old season. He is a good #2 option, doesn't have a good outside shot but other than that, a very good player.
I think he would work well with Wes playing next to him.
