^ love that idea. If Ny wants to clear 2011 space for their Carmelo run, they could get an expiring in Sasha (who might even do ok for DAntoni). Ronny would be an excellent backup and insurance should Bynum or Gasol go out.

Bringing back Turiaf would be great it actually may lower the Lakers payroll this coming season because Sasha makes 1.4m more than Turiaf. But sInce he got traded so recently i dont think he can be traded until at least December I think. Outside of Turiaf these are the remaining PF/C free agents that are in the Lakers price range, Fesenko, Kwame, Josh Boone, Joe Smith, Juwan Howard, K. Thomas, E. Thomas, Magloire, and Jason Collins. Which one of these players do you guys like the most on the Lakers next season.

Well for start he can't trade for another 2 months, but he can be traded alone right now in a one for one swap now.

Wait so can he be traded now or not. First you say not for 2 months but also you say he can be traded a one for one swap now which is it.

I have to admit - getting Turiaf back has been on my mind as soon as he was traded to NYK. If they would take Sasha and his expiring for him I'd do it in a heartbeat but I think the Knicks are going to want to keep him.

D'Antoni spoke highly of him when he was coaching PHX.

One for one swap can happen now, but adding more than one player to the player that just been traded to his new team can't happen until after 2 months.

^ exactly right. He can be traded by himself immediately.

Another guy I'd like to snap up if he gets waived: Patty Mills.
Portland just went into the luxury tax nearly 2 mil with the signing of Wes Matthews for their MLE. They now have 13 players under guaranteed contract plus Cunningham on a Non-Guaranteed.

Seems they'd let Mills walk rather than pay him and add to their tax. Lakers could use a jitterbug PG to groom and he's been getting major experience playing internationally for Aussie.

Paying Miller 5 million when he's 35,36 is pretty much just as bad as paying Luke or Sasha.

New rest of Lakers offseason:

Looks like Shannon will be retained (around 2.5 m?).

Trade: Vujacic + '11 1st for Shaq Oneal (s/t 4.5, 5.0 w yr2 as team opt)
* Bynum insurance. Since LA missed on the SF b/ups in FA, Odom will slide down and pick up 10-12 mpg, clearing more mins for Shaq. Against the west and Miami or Boston, LA will crush with 4 unstoppable bigs.
* why for CLE: 1) they'll be waiving West in the next wk and need a b/up SG, 2) get an additional pick next draft which adds to the 2 1sts they got from Miami to start their rebuild - but they won't see the Heat picks until '13 at the earliest so they'd probably take this. LA won't need it next year Fisher signing a 3yr deal.

Bynum (30), Shaq (18)
Pau (32), Odom (16)
Ron (32), Odom (12), Walton (4)
Kobe (34), Brown (14)
Fish (20), Blake (24), Brown (4)

Fill out the 11, 12, 13 slots with Caracter (5th big), Ebanks (4th wing), and when he's waived by Portland in the next month Patty Mills (3rd pg). 3 youngsters to develop.

This puts payrll at 92m which is right on track.

I rather take West of their hand in that scenario, he can actually get his own offense and Snaq can just got to Atl/Chi so he can rip Rupaul a new one come playoff time.
