Value: Timberwolves get hosed big time, way to good for NJ
Fit: Harris does not make sense for Sac. You can't play Evans and Harris together.

How is that? 11th pick with NBA experience at a position of need PLUS a 1st rounder for a 5th pick with no NBA experience to be 1 of 3 PGs.

Kahn will get fired before he trades Rubio. It will not happen. He has basically said that every move he's making is to acquire pieces that work with Rubio.
How about Love for Favors? I think I would do that deal but I'm not sure either of the teams involved would.

I was actually hoping you'd weigh in. Why do you think the value is so lopsided. We're not talking CDR here, you think Twills value is that low? A lot of fans are pretty high on the guy and i'm not talking about Nets fans. Plus i think fit wise, its pretty close to ideal for the Wolves.

Aside from the fact that Rubio was picked 6 spots ahead of Williams in the draft a year ago? What has Williams done to close that gap? No, really, sell us on how awesome a prospect Williams is...
Naz Reid.

Well, he had a triple double as a rook and made the 1st team all-orlando summer league.

I actually like Williams more than most and have convinced a few Wolves fans that we should go after Williams, however Rubio simply has much more value to the Wolves. It's certainly debatable if this high value is merited based on completely empirical data and projections, however, at this point the front office's hands are tied because of the hype and fan hysteria surrounding Rubio. So, I guess I don't think Williams' value is that low as you would put it, I just think Rubio's value is much higher to MN.
If you want me to put a value on Williams alone, I would say using this past draft as an indicator he should have been in the 9-13 range. For the Wolves Rubio would have been top 4. A mid first isn't going to make up that difference simply because teams don't willy nilly move their top prospects.
As for Rubio, consider how much media attention and interest he has generated in the Wolves and all that considering he hasn't even played a minutes yet. For a middle market team like the Wolves players like that are too far in between.

Fair enough.
But what good is the attention really do for you though?

Re: NJ/Kings/Minny idea...
I'm actually ok with the idea of trading Rubio at this point. Not for this deal, because the value isn't there, but if guys like Brandon Knight or Kyrie Irving have awesome seasons/pre-drafts I'd be fine with trading Rubio for a player much more athletic like them.

Anytime the MN Timberwolves get mentioned positively in the press it is worth something. From an owner's perspective this builds the brand. By building the brand and having a more popular team, fan attention increases. All of a sudden more people are watching on televsion and advertising revenue goes up. More people are logging into twovles.com. More people are saving their money to buy Rubio jerseys. More people are buying season tickets now, to lock in their cheap seats when Rubio comes. (I'm not saying this is happening already, but that is the imaginable effect).
Consider the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim name change lawsuit. The city of Anaheim wanted to get an injunction to prevent the Anaheim Angels from changing their name to the Los Angeles Angels. It was presented that merely changing the name to Los Angeles was worth tens of millions of dollars to the owner of the angels merely because having a name attached to a bigger market increases the public awareness in the brand. A hyped up nationally known player can have the same effect.
