How about "The Kobe Stopper"...

Post#1 » by salmahayek » Wed Jul 14, 2010 10:12 pm

...Reuben Patterson for the league minimum? He could become the "Wade Watcher" and the "LeBron Locker-Upper."

I think he is playing in Lebanon of all places. I know Phil said they made a mistake when they let him go years ago. I realize he is a lot older now, but as a bench player to play limited minutes and defend and play a little more open style of basketball with the second unit, he might be interesting.

Camp invite at the right price?

I know a lot of fair-weather Lakers fans are worried that the Heat are now the NBA's Most Hated Team (they aren't, they just have the most hated player), however you earn that label by your play on the court & by winning championships, not by signing a registered sex offender onto your team.

Guys, I know very well that a Patterson signing is highly, highly, unlikely...was just throwing some fodder out there that obviously compelled some posters to respond.

And the biggest reason Patterson is probably not in the NBA is the result of the indiscretion with his nanny. However, it's Hollywood and there have been a lot of indiscretions with nannies over the years. Not that it should be taken lightly, however.

As for the time machine stuff, he's two years younger than Fish and I would imagine he could still play some good D and come in and foul or do something to help slow down a star scorer if they were going unconscious. I think he could handle 12 minutes a night if he had to.

Again, unlikely to happen, but I thought it would be fun to bring up a blast from the past. However, probably no more unlikely than T-Mac.
