Landing Boozer saved free agency. It would be pretty depressing heading into the season having gutted half the team for nothing. The moves the front office made have been a success because of Boozer so it's hard to complain in hindsight about Kirk/Gordon.

But I do agree with you about Gordon. With Stoudemire/Boozer/Bosh/Lee available for the taking, nobody would have killed the Bulls if they simply kept the SG position filled and focused their entire effort on landing one of those PFs. Given the amount of teams clearing salary, the odds were against the Bulls to sign two star free agents.

On another note, given Arn Tellum's relationship with Reinsdorf, I wonder if they expected Joe Johnson to be available and were a little blind-sided by Atlanta's offer. When Atlanta offered the max, Joe Johnson decided to take the money.

I feel thats exactley what happened. They expected to get JJ almost as a certainty plus Lebron, and as a security net for Lebron they started the Boozer talks early. Once JJ got max they knew if they didnt get one of Lebron or Wade they were screwed at SG.

I just wish orlando didn't take this 7 day approach to matching this deal. Sucks to be locked up.

I am not saying he is great. I am saying he might be better than Redick.

He is better than Redick, but that's not what the transaction will equate to. It's still an incomplete transaction, and like others have pointed out, if we get Brewer as well then it's pretty clear that we benefited from moving his contract.

JR may be saying these things to avoid a fine or not burn bridges - but i doubt he really believes those 2 were honest & open-minded.

Isn't it weird

When we have him, the Forum is filled with hate for him & for management for not getting rid of him

After we get rid of him, people miss him and want him back. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

On a side note - wait until the Magic match on Redick. The Kirk love will go off the charts then.

Why?? All our money is not tied up - just $7 million.

Bulls have almost $6 million available NOW to spend if they want to use it.

We're not losing anyone by waiting.

Yup, we will probably witness a 24-hour meltdown ... Until people realize that we have $13 million of cap space (and some picks) to do a trade for a top class SG ...

I has a lot to do with him being traded. Had he left as a free-agent, he would've maintained his low popularity.

If he wants to come bak, just sign him to a decent deal in 2 yrs. IMO hes a championship caliber role player but hes just super inconsistent. I still dont want him as a starting 2guard under any circumstances

That isn't quite true.....
We can't trade for anyone that makes over $6M....and we also have to wait and see if land Redick to determine what other type of guard we should go after.

I'm a bit ticked that we didn't go after Morrow or Matthews....even with an offer extended to Redick. We should have undercut that Morrow offer....and it should have been us going after Matthews. Well, we will find out about Redick soon enough.

And as Fish pointed out...a lot of the angst (mine included) is because we need to add 3 guards to the roster...but we gave away two guards with nothing to show for it. We could have signed Livingston with Kirk and Anderson still on the roster (along with Korver and Boozer).

Does a Redick/Brewer combo make you anymore of a true contender than a Kirk/Anderson combo? Not just a little better....but a contender?
Jealousy is a sickness.......get well soon....

I rather have kirk then deng, but im honestly over all glad he's gone(kirk) he's not clutch and is to streaky and gets paid to much to come off the bench. I think he would be a nice role player 1 day if he wanted to come back in a limited role for us as for now good read ence i wish deng could of gone with him.

I did not mean this in the sense I don't want Reddick. I just feel like we're waiting on this deal to finish our roster out and I really want to know what we're running with soon.

I believe it was July 9th.
