Andy Verejao
Wolves fan here, what would it take to get Varejao on the Wolves? I was thinking Andy could be a solid backup C/PF and a high-energy guy. Something along the likes of Sessions + Pekovic/Koufos and a 2nd? Ideas?
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt

I'd be interested in Koufos, but I don't think he's enough for Varejao. No real interest in the other stuff. I don't really know enough about Pekovic

Re: Andy Verejao
nothing really. i'd really prefer to keep him but if we are trading varejao, it's most likely to add value to a jamison or mo deal. you guys don't have the horses (contract-wise) to match up to either of those two

We don't really need to match salaries since we just cleared Al Jefferson's contract so the Cavs could save money in the deal but not having to get back what they ship out salary-wise.

if you got the horses, then cool. varejao would have to be accompanied by jamison or mo in my eyes

Even with your trade exception (Which is about 13 million) you don't have what is needed.
Seriously - Minnesota has nothing that the Cavaliers would want for Varejao.
IF we traded him, we'd need to get a young big (younger than Varejao, who's 27). The Big would have to be able to run the floor, play center, and play excellent defense.
Kosta Koufos is soft, small frame, doesn't move well, doesn't play defense well. Why do you think Utah threw him into the trade?
Nothing against Minnesota, but they don't have anything of interest for the Cavs when talking about Varejao... and the Cavs don't need to save money.

WTF? We don't need Varejao. We got Love and Beasley.

Let's get Sasha back on the Cavs..
But really, I'm not really interested in anything that Minnesota has, now that Al Jefferson is gone. Not very good trading partners if you ask me.

I am not being completely serious here, but imagine Sasha defending LeBron. I got the impression that LeBron saw more in Sasha then most of us got to see. I also think Sasha would perform better in an uptempo offense as well.

Always been a big Sasha fan, but I think his chances are about up.

I think I just have this fantasy of Sasha completing a chase down block on LeBron. I agree though, he pretty much played himself out of the league.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Here is the question of chemistry that hurt cleveland the starting shooting guard on the team that went to the championship was Pavlovic! He was fearless was not a bad jumpshooter and the team won! Stats are not everything!

In actuality, a big reason as to why that team got into the finals was because of you know who.. Why don't we get Drew Gooden back while we're at it, since he was the starting 4 on that team? (Yes I know he is with the Bucks now.) I was never a Sasha hater or anything, but to be fair, it was best that he was traded, especially being part of that Shaq trade.. He would play moderately well, and after an injury strikes him, he would be repellent to the team. I personally wouldn't want him back on the Cavs. I'd rather have a 35 year old Anthony Parker at the 2.

Re: Andy Verejao
Yeah, we should have traded Sasha when his value was high... back in 06 or 07.... back when he was young, and people thought he had a lot of upside.
Now... he's just filler.
As for Sasha chasing down LeBron... Really? Sasha's mantra is: "My offense is my defense."
Best we can hope for is that somebody takes out one of Mr. Me's knees.

Andy is more than a solid backup at those positions. I'd only get rid of Andy if it meant we were filling two holes, and unfortunately getting rid of him means we would now have a new hole at center, because he currently is our only one. To get rid of Andy, I'd have to be getting in a trade Kosta and Brewer. It you're absolutely hellbent on getting Session's contract out of town, then I'd make it something like Brewer, Kosta and Sessions for Varejao, Parker and Telfair. Two expiring contracts coming to Minny along with Varejao.

I don't see any possibilities with Minny and the Cavs. I guess Flynn is the only possibility. Personally I'm not interested in Flynn, but the Cavs might be. With Flynn being a LRMR client I don't see that happening now even if there was mutual interest.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Re: Andy Verejao
nothing on the Cavs roster could net you Flynn.
Andy would be a poor fit in MN so lets forget about him. Wolves are going to move Sessions, probably for an expiring. He's got starter potential and he's making back up money. That's a good deal for whoever (Pacers, Cats, Cavs, etc.) ends up with him.
