we all remember shaq going to the lakers. the difference to me was that instead of just building from there. they kept penny, ran the offense thru him and kept finishing with a respectable record. then 2000, they signed tmac and hill. hill got injured which furthered cursed the magic. ok we all know how the rest of the story turned out. the question is how do the cavs avoid a 10 championship drought? im sure you guys dont wanna end up like the magic. and prefer a 5 yr or less plan to get back in championship form.

The Magic didnt sign Hill and he got injured. Their medical team apparently sucked and they signed a badly damaged Hill to begin with. Him on a max contract was an anchor. Cleveland can easily avoid this by not giving out a max-deal to an already injured player.

That said, i'm happy where the Magic are right now.

having an entire roster full of expensive average players can be worse than 1 bad max contract. just ask the bobcats, or the current cavs

cleaning house is the best option when your stuck in mediocrity
