thats because every sports reporter thinks he's gonna be like Keith Olbermann and break away from sports since talking about sports is beneath them, so they treat their jobs like they're trying out for Dateline NBC. In come the (in their minds) hard hitting questions, but actually they just come across like douche nozzles

Yeah, those were some poor questions for a 21 year old kid who just had a root canal.
It bummed me out when he put his head in his hand, it looked like he dozed off for a second, and another time after saying the same old "work hard" bit, he just stopped talking and looked down, all sad and tuckered out...
Didn't really like the one word answers, it shows way too much disinterest. I think he'll come around once he gets more comfortable though.
I really wish someone would've asked him, "how's about bringing back the afro?" just to lighten the mood, and also because I really like guys with afros. - I actually have a season of NBA LIVE 06 titled froball, where my starting 5 is shawn livingston, josh childress, [can't remember], Ben Wallace, Anderson Varajao, and the bench anyone else who had an afro or crazy do.

I wish more questions had been about the future and not the past. Too many questions about Miami and his personal past, not enough about his future with the Wolves. It was like a broken record in there. I don't blame him for his one word answers... he was answering the same questions over and over...
All in all I don't think it was a bad interview. He wanted to say the right things because throughout his whole career, people have said he is a screw up. Also, he is probably still in a little bit shock about going to a place that is "famous" for not being an attractive destination (any national news about the Wolves is negative), but once he gets out there with the guys, he will get comfortable and come into his own.
I have high hopes for SuperCool.

Re: Michael Beasley Presser @ 3:00 pm CST
"I'm 25," Jefferson said. "These first six years in the league went by so fast. Another six years go by and I'll be 31. I just felt it was the time. I don't feel like I have three more years to sit and wait. Minnesota understood everything I was saying. They respected that.
"I thank them for the opportunity to let me come here. I'm really happy I left there on a good note."
Jefferson said Kahn told him that he'll always be part of the Timberwolves family.
"Minnesota welcomed me with open arms when I got there," he said. "I was really nervous about that, replacing a guy like Kevin Garnett. The fans really supported me for my three years there, they really supported me during my DWI [February's drunken-driving arrest]. Minnesota was a family to me. That's what I will miss the most about it."
Say what you want about Kahn but I have a feeling he has the respect of his players. He seemed to be entirely honest with Jefferson throughout the process. He did the same with Gomes, and even told him after last season that he'd likely be traded because of his contract. You gotta believe the players appreciate that. Kahn never threw Jefferson under the bus, continually praised Al's professionalism the entire time, and traded him to a good organization. From his perspective, Al acknowledged the franchise and the fans, which was the classy move.
Was this so hard for both parties? Compare it to the KG trade, where he's blindsided by the trade talk to begin with, he blocks one trade that would have netted the Wolves a better deal, then the franchise accuses him of tanking the season before, followed up by KG making snarky comments as soon as he's in Boston, and to my recollection, never really making the token comment like "thanks to the fans in MN". I mean, who cares if they really mean what they say about appreciating the fans.....all we really want is to hear it once and then everyone can move on.
Anyway, seems like the Utah trade was handled professionally and respectfully by both Kahn and Jefferson.

KG gave MN a shout out after he won the championship.

True, but dealing with the trade is hard on fans. It's kind of silly but I think it would be nice for us to hear a simple comment like that at the time of the trade.

Yeah, KG is an ass of a person but he paid his dues to Minnesota after winning that championship. As sad as it is to say this, I think him winning that championship was the best moment in Timberwolf history.

I bet he took a dump yesterday too, should we analyze and try to correlate that as well!
Btw, Syracuse is one of the best communication schools in the country, thus it is not surprising that Johnson and Flynn have better interview skills then the average NBA player.

Well...
Do we really think that they were taking legitimate classes?

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Miami guy here, wish you guys the best with Beasley. I know he is depressed and down right now and we feel bad for him too, but it just wasn't working out here. I think he should take this and make the best of it. He really needed a change of scenery. I hope the coaches, teammates, fans and organization will make him feel at home and bring the best out of him. I think there is more in him that he can give you guys. Good luck!

Charley is a genius:
The 6-foot-9 Beasley wore jersey No. 30 in Miami. No. 30 is available with the departure of Ryan Gomes, but Beasley chose instead to wear No. 8 with the Wolves.
"Just something different," Beasley said.

So close, Charley...so, close...
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.
