The 2010-11 Rockets as of 7/15/10

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Fri Jul 16, 2010 3:03 am

These are the players locked up:

PG: Aaron Brooks / Kyle Lowry
SG: Kevin Martin / Chase Budinger
SF: Trevor Ariza / Shane Battier / Jared Jeffries
PF: Luis Scola / Patrick Patterson / Jordan Hill
C: Yao Ming / Chuck Hayes / David Andersen

13 on the roster now...tho the positions are less than static. You know how this team rolls: Adelman will go with all kinds of lineups & combos.

I'm still hoping to see a Minute-Limiter like Brad Miller signed (could have sworn i saw a report about that) so that Yao isn't on the floor too much. I'd like to see Hill & Patterson get as many minutes as possible...as long as it is understood they are developing right now. I want to see Andersen used in a tall SF type role, and not in the paint.

All that said....damn, we seemed poised to make some moves! There's got to be a consolidation move or two on Morey's mind right now.

I believe J. Taylor is also on contract.
So total 14 roster spots confirmed.
If Brad Miller signed, all 15 spots filled.
If there is a 3rd PG available then Taylor's position is in danger.

Well, you have offered Ariza, Hill, Jeffries for Iggy. Philly isn't biting yet though.

Link? All I know is that we offered TMac's expiring and some filler but Philly said no.

I swear, one of these days people will stop considering Brooks, Ariza, Battier, Landry, etc. fillers, but yeah, the Sixers are in no way, shape, or form trading Igoudala short (or for fair value, for that matter). There is a heck of a lot of interest in Igoudala from like 29 different teams. In fact, over in the Sixers' forum, there is a "We are not trading Igoudala for fair value, so unless you are sending us Deron Williams, don't post your fantasy trade proposal here" thread.

I don't really blame them, though. Apparently there are a whole lot of Bulls fans who thinks that the Sixers would have bought Igoudala for Gibson+cap if they had offered that instead of the Igoudala for Deng+Gibson proposal the Sixers' FO turned down in 0.3 seconds flat.

C: Yao, Miller(if we sign him)
PF: Scola, Hill, Paterson
SF: Ariza, Budinger, Battier
SG: Martin, Battier, Taylor
PG: Brooks, Lowry, Taylor

It think with the resigning of Scola and drafting Paterson you will see Hill moved and if it seems like Brooks is going to get a big payday in the offseason then look for him on the trading block. That also depends on who we get. Of course Jeffries will also be on the move and apart of any package.
What I would like to see is Iggy for Hill, Ariza, and Jeffries. Or Granger, Ford and hopefully a future 1st for Brook, Hill, Ariza, and Jeffries. Now the Granger trade is a high price to pay but I would be ok with that but pretty sure most of you would not be fine with that.
