Jawad being recruited by LeBron?

Post#1 » by B Mac » Fri Jul 16, 2010 2:29 pm

LeBron the recruiter has new target, sources say: Jawad Williams. He's a restricted free agent tho & Cavs interested in bringing him back.

So let me get this straight. LeBron left because his supporting cast wasnt good enough and now he wants our 15th man to go join him in Miami?

Gotta love the subtle shot by Windy calling him LeBron the recruiter. He's done more recruiting in the last week then he did in the last 7 years. He really is a first class scumbag.

If Miami wins the championship next season, how many players on that roster will be a year removed from the Cavs roster? I am surprised they are not going after someone like Darnell Jackson.

More to the point, I hope Jawad stays. I think it would be a scumbag move if he jumps ship. Cleveland was the team that kept him in the league. I also think Jawad can be a solid reserve for us, especially if we move Jamison at some point.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Ok, so let me get this straight....

The Heat have no cap space and LeBron is recruiting our restricted free agent whom we want back.
Anyone else seeing a logic flaw in that?

Jawad is actually from Cleveland... I also thinks it's a bit disingenuous to call him the 15th man since he actually played alot more than players that would have to have been higher on the Cavs roster.

It's kind of ironic that Wade defends Lebron, for quitting in the Celtic Series, by saying that it was on Lebron's supporting caste and Lebron is recruiting these same player's from last season for the heat.

Inside look at LeBron’s free-agent coup

No one had more intelligence and better monitored the disconnect between James and the Cavaliers than Miami Heat president Pat Riley. He had informants and spies everywhere, including his own star, Wade, who had been telling Riley for most of two years they could lure James to South Beach. The Heat had everything they needed to sell James, except for what finally arrived on the eve of the NBA draft: salary-cap space.

Wade had come to believe James would likely leave Cleveland, but became largely certain once the Cavaliers lost to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals. For the first time, James could no longer blame his supporting cast and coaching for a playoff exit. His peculiar performance in a Game 5 blowout, lethargic and distant, pushed James on trial.

Why would LeBron want Jawad? Every other fan base tells me how bad the Cavs roster is. I like Jawad, but he is a guy that gives you spot minutes once in awhile.

The Heat will have an outstanding starting five, but their bench is looking pretty bad. I respect Big Z, but he has very little left in the tank. At this point, he is a 10 per game player and there are no guarantees of the quality of those minutes. Supposedly, old and bad Penny Hardaway would like to make a comeback. This is turning out to be the most disparity between starters and the bench in NBA history. If the Heat have foul trouble, forget about competing that night.

If I remember correctly it's been written that Jawad is a good practice guy to have on the roster. He wasnt' afraid to go at it with LeBron. That's a good type of player to have in the Miami situation.

I want the Cavs to keep him for now. They should find out what they have, or don't have, with him before they let him go.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

I believe that is the same reason why LeBron was fond of Sasha.

Maybe Jim Gray can host the special and ask Jawad if he still bites his nails all while holding his ball sack.

If only LeBron could get the Cavs roster on that team. Then he will still be able to sell the same excuse that he didn't have enough talent when the Heat finish with the best record and get eliminated in the 2nd round. Not having to be the man and having a built in excuse is a win-win for LBJ.

Lebron could recruit all he wants - all MIA has is the vet min and we would gladly match that offer.

Jawad is restricted. LeBron cannot get Jawad to Miami without the Cavaliers' help.

Not happening... unless the Heat want to give us a couple more 1st round picks. :D

So leDouche wants some of his former teammates that were the cause of him missing his coronation. This is almost as telling as him running to his saviour Wade to help him fulfill his "destiny".
And btw, I love how Wade has to come to his defence saying that leQuit didnt actually quit in the series against Boston.
It sounds to me like the boyfriend who has to tell his friends that his girlfriend "isnt like that". Comical.

lol....I think he really did enjoy playing with some of the guys on the cavs team, its just that some of those guys would be a) the 3rd or 4th option on a championship team b)bench players c) players who get no PT at all....Jawad is a good specialty player who could possibly flourish as a decent minimum role player. Shoot the spurs have a guy like Matt Bonner and has looked amazing playing with Tim, Tony and Manu where as before he was just with Bosh.
