Just thought of another name to throw in the mix: Erick Dampier. Not for the $13 mil or whatever he's supposed to make this year, but after getting cut by whomever, he should be hitting the market at a good time (for us), since most of the open cap space for contenders should be used up by then.
As far as his play, I'd honestly want him over any other name on this list. He's a "dirty work" player who knows his role. He sets hard screens, blocks a few shots, is an active rebounder, and uses his body to push opposing Cs from the low block. He's the type of high efficiency (60+ % from the floor for the last 4 years), low usage (all he gets on O is put-backs off of his own rebounds) players that I'd like to surround our core with. He brings most of what I'm hoping to see out of Shaq except without the age/headaches factors.
Poll : Shaq, Miller (signed with HOU) or other C for $5M ?

CLE was targeting Brad Miller even if James had re-signed.
If the best team in the NBA last season wanted, and still wants to add Miller, I can't understand why ATL would not want him.
Maybe if they were able to keep James, they would have re-signed Ilgauskas and signed Miller. Don't know if they would have tried to keep Shaq too.
EDIT: goodbye Miller, he's signing with HOU for 15M/3yrs
