Wall pg, Arenas sg, Kirk combo back up
pretty solid guard rotation imo
There's only 1 basketball, and only 1 guy can be the guy with the ball in his hands most of the time. For Arenas' entire career that's been him. Now it will be Wall. Arenas will have to adjust to a different role - and if he struggles, his market value goes down, and if he pouts, his market value falls off a cliff. On top of all that, there's the matter than in the long term, the last thing you want to do when building around Wall is have his #2 guy be too old to matter when Wall actually gets really good.
I'm not saying it can't work out to Washington's benefit to keep him for a while, but I would be absolutely stunned if their management's only question was not WHEN to trade Arenas, not IF. And the moment they get a decent offer, WHEN becomes now.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Arenas has spent plenty of time off the ball in his career, including entire seasons specifically when he was paired with Hughes in the backcourt.
