Will Hill Be Traded

Post#1 » by zapatasblood » Sat Jul 17, 2010 6:48 pm

So I hear that the Rockets have signed Miller. So the resigning of Scola, drafting of Paterson, and the signing of Miller tells me that Hill will be part of any package that is use to acquire a player this offseason. Who is it going to be?

You usually don't hear anything about Morey's trade proposal until it's done.
We been hearing we are after Iguodala, so I don't think it's going to happen (Philly may leak to public to jack up Iguodala's value).

I think we got a better chance of getting Iggy since I do believe that he will be moved before the preseason. Granger will not be traded until sometime around the trade deadline. So either have Iggy now or Granger later? If we have a chance of getting either one.

I can see a deadline deal with Hill packaged with our young assets and picks for a star on a team thats going nowhere. Morey's done it the last 2 years in a row.

CP3 is not going to be traded. The only way for Paul to leave New Orleans is by free agency and even then I don't think he will be leaving. If they get that GM from Portland the Hornets will become a good team once again.

Texas Morey will not trade for Oden who has yet to even play a full season since he was drafted.

To me there only seems to be two people that we could trade for and that is Granger and Iggy. Melo is believed that he will sign the extension before the season begins and if we trade for Melo I want him to sign an extension with the Rockets. I don't not want to trade for Melo in the middle of the season and have him opt out and sign elsewhere. That would be a waste of assets. CP3 will get a good team around him if they bring in Pritchard. Hornets already have a descent team and with a healthy Paul they could be good.

Funny thing is that you and the other fans have no control over the franchise so it is rather humorous that you state "Ha Hell no we are NOT taking Jordan Hill". Specially when it comes down to what the front office thinks and wants.
I don't see why you are so strongly against Hill who is a good banger at the 4. Sure he is a raw player and needs some more grooming but he is only 22 years old a sophomore in the NBA. I myself like Hill but since they drafted Patterson and did not trade his rights tells me that he is staying. Specially since it was rumored that they wanted to trade up to get him. Also the resigning of Scola to a 5 yr deal that averages out $9.4 mil a year means there is not room for Hill.

Actually...

Now that Oden's knee got KP fired, that trade (or something like it) might be possible.

Have they hired a new GM yet?

How about this bigger Portland deal then

To Blazers: Aaron Brooks, Jordan Hill, Chuck Hayes, Jared Jeffries
To Rockets: Marcus Camby, Rudy Fernandez, Jerryd Bayless

Rockets
F: Shane Battier, Trevor Ariza, Chase Budinger
F: Luis Scola, Marcus Camby, Patrick Patterson
C: Yao Ming, Brad Miller, David Andersen
G: Kyle Lowry, Jerryd Bayless, Ishamel Smith???
G: Kevin Martin, Rudy Fernandez, Jermaine Taylor

Blazers
F: Nicolas Batum, Luke Babbitt, Jared Jeffries
F: LaMarcus Aldridge, Jordan Hill, Dante Cunningham
C: Joel Przybilla, Greg Oden, Chuck Hayes
G: Aaron Brooks, Andre Miller, Patrick Mills?
G: Brandon Roy, Wesley Matthews, Elliot Williams

A front court of Yao/Scola/Miller/Camby would be tough to beat.
Camby would take over for Chuck Hayes as the team's defensive stopper.
Patterson would have to sit and learn for awhile in his first season.

Bayless isn't as good as Brooks but he had an impressive playoff run and he is 6'3 and under his rookie contract for another year after this one. Since Portland couldn't get CP3 it's possible they would settle for Brooks.

There was talk before the draft about Houston being a possible trade destination for Rudy Fernandez so Morey must be interested. He is more ready than JT or Chase to contribute to a contender depsite having a down year.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Specifics of your proposal aside, I'm pretty sure when the Rox make a trade, it won't be a "might work" move. It'll be a big splash type of deal.

But Brooks getting traded is a very real possibility, b/c of money issues.

Texas outside of Roy, Batum and Aldridge there is nothing good about the Trail Blazers.

How about Gerald Wallace as a splash type of deal? He's not as good of a scorer as Danny Granger or as good of a passer as Iggy but he's a much better rebounder and defender than both and GW is only 6 months older than DG. Wallace played his first 3 seasons under Rick Adelman in SAC.

Here's a 4 for 2 trade
To Charlotte: Aaron Brooks, Trevor Ariza, Jordan Hill and Chase Budinger
To Houston: Gerald Wallace and DJ Augustin

Rockets
F: Gerald Wallace, Shane Battier, Jared Jeffries
F: Luis Scola, Patrick Patterson, Chuck Hayes
C: Yao Ming, Brad Miller, David Andersen
G: Kyle Lowry, DJ Augustin, Ishmael Smith???
G: Kevin Martin, Jermaine Taylor, ???

Bobcats
F: Trevor Ariza, Boris Diaw, Chase Budinger
F: Tyrus Thomas, Jordan Hill, Edjuardo Najera
C: Erick Dampier, Nazr Mohammed, DeSagana Diop
G: Aaron Brooks, Sherron Collins
G: Stephen Jackson, Matt Carroll, Gerald Henderson

I like Gerald and if Morey pulled something off in getting Wallace then that would be sweet. I Also am a Longhorn fan but D.J. to me seems like a bust. Also I have not seen anything about shopping Budinger so I do not think he is on the block. Brooks seems like he will also be traded but to me I really think if he is then it will be for Granger or someone at the level of Granger. At least I hope so. Plus Jeffries will also be part of any deal that Morey makes in the future.
