What are the details on his contract? Ive always liked his game a lot and wouldnt mind trading for him but I dont know much about what it would take to get him or how much he would cost.

He is under contract through 2012/13 season. The only problem I see with a deal for Hamilton is that I can't see Detroit just being interested in dumping his salary. I'd be interested in a Hamilton and Summers or Daye trade, Detroit has Jerebko, Prince, and Charlie that also play some SF for them. I just don't know what Detroit could want back in a trade from us. Possibly Varejao and some of our expirings, but I think they would want picks, especially since we are in the same division.

He has 3 years left but the last is a team option I think

Rip can still score 20 a night

If Lebron had stayed...possibly. Since the CAVs will be rebuilding--- not likely considering his age and contract.

no freaking way do i want rip and daye for varejao and expirings, this is the type of deal that will kill this franchise going forward. i do not want a SG whose best days are behind him still making a ton of cash for the next 3-4 years. Basically, what i am saying is that detroit can keep that and that contract.

No, not even in the least bit. There's nothing that I see that makes sense between the two teams.

I don't even know what type of player Austin Daye is right now or will become in the NBA. So Even if the Pistons add Daye to sweeten any deal with Rip that's not enough sweetening.

If I had to guess right now I'd say Daye might be following the path of Jared Jefferies, a NBA player with no position and no purpose.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Yes, if Monroe was attached.

Just him. Not at all.

I can't imagine that the Cavs would be more interested in him in the post LeBron era than they were before it

For a team that is most likely rebuilding, it is difficult to imagine that the Cavs would have a mild interest in a 32 year old Rip with a bad contract. While he can put up some points, just know that his shooting percentages has dropped off extravagantly the last 2 seasons.
