Has Avery gave any hints on when favors starts?
Cause he's not the project people think he is. As of now he can play D and get 10 boards and 12 points and raw talent alone which is better then anything we got and it's good for the fans to see him which they will want to espially with the blocks and dunks. Plus he can be Brook's body guard the Oakley to Ewing.
Better then Outlaw being the Rashard Lewis to Howard if you guys know what I mean.

He said rcent;ly....his hope was by mid season.
And he sees Outlaw as a 3....NOT a 4....in fact expects him to start.
The odd man out right now..to me seems like Twill. A shame.

How is TWill the odd man out?
O.K. let me get this straight, he said he hopes he starts by midseason and Outlaw will play only at the 3?
That's good to here. Now I don't want Craig Smith.
Again why does that mean Williams is the odd man out? He will earn the starting 2 spot if anything or start off backing up the 2-3 until Avery realizes he is the third best player and with him and Favors in 3 years they will have a big 4.
I see it like this after the break
Lopez
Favors-Kris-James
Outlaw-Marrow-James
Williams-Marrow-Lee
Harris-Farmar-Williams if Harris goes down.
If somebody is gonna be an odd man out it will be Courtney Lee. They do have alot of wings though but Williams is the best one so why would he be the odd man out?

Yep E's right. Twill is looking like the odd man out. He fully expects Outlaw to play the 3 and more than likely be backed up by James. Twill on the other hand is not expected to get any playing time at the 3 as Avery see his as more of a 2-1.
In a recent phone conference Avery said he expect guys to fight it out for position in training camp so there's a good chance Twill good beat out Lee/Morrow for the 2 spot. If he doesn't I'm not particular sure how many minutes he can get coming off the bench. Considering we have Faramar backing up the 1. Ultimately, I feel like Avery is gonna want a shooter in Lee/Morrow starting at the 2 spot. I'll give the edge to Lee because he's the much better defender though not as good a shooter... I guess we'll see how it works out.

That would be sooooooo stupid. Williams is better then every single wing we have.

Why do you repeat that phrase. "Favors is not as raw as people think". I believe this came from Polinsky after the Cousin vs Favors workout. It was 1 little, generic, politically correct sentence days before the draft and people take it to heart. It doesn't mean anything, especially after watching him in SL how can you say he is not as raw as people think? Unless you think he is MORE raw then that would make sense. But saying he could be 12/10 guy on talent alone, come on, talent wasn't enough in SL was it?
I also think Twitt is the odd man out. I've been saying that since the Morrow offer sheet was signed. There is a lot of trade speculation around him, to fair its all fan based. If not Twitt then someone else because there is absolutely NO way all these guys will get minutes. I thought it would be James on the count that he is a rook, but i also said that his defense will give him a chance. After this interview, it sounds like Avery really likes him and he only sees Outlaw as James as SF, so there is a good chance that he will play. Although i do think that him saying Twitt is not a 3 is not as clearly defined as he made it out to sound. The 2 and 3 and very interchangeable, i'm pretty sure we'll see Morrow and Twitt in the game together at which point who the SF is wont be defined and wont matter. I think he meant more that Twitt is not a STARTING, FULL TIME SF. But he does seem like the odd man out, i think its cause of his out of control play and weak defense.

Re: Has Avery gave any hints on when favors starts?
I want our lineup to be:
C Lopez/Petro
PF Favors/Humphries/Petro
SF Outlaw/James/Williams
SG Morrow/Lee/Williams
PG Harris/Farmar
T-Will is the odd man out, but I want Lee to be traded to be honest. He's hampering Williams development. Favors needs to develop until about January, so we need another PF, unless we move Outlaw tot he 4.

Why not send Courtney Lee back to Orlando for Ryan Anderson? That Ryan kid wasn't so bad...Or maybe even for Brandon Bass. Works on the trade checker...

I wouldn't mind some kind of Courtney Lee trade because he is messing with the development of Williams. As of this moment Williams is our third best player.
Oh and I say He isn't as raw as people think (Favors) because he's not. His problem was lack of aggression not not having the moves. He can score with both hands, has a decent jumper and can play D at the next level so yeah he's not that raw.
Avery said play like you did in H.S. and bam 28 and 12 in the last game. You can't do that raw. DeAndre Jordan is raw. This kid isn't.

Agree. I think he has to work on his basketball IQ and footwork though, because he has a tendency to look lost, and that was in summer league. Our lineup for the future should be:
And with Lee, his play is solid and his defense is good, but Williams just has more talent. Lee is the better player right now, so I think we should trade him at the deadline.

Avery suffers from Foot in Mouth Disease. It's a horrible, fast moving type of sickness that tends to react quite wildly to doses of power and/or alcohol.

Re: Has Avery gave any hints on when favors starts?
Lets be clear. I am not saying Twill is the odd man out because he SHOULD be. I am saying...that is how I interpret the WHOLE of Avety's comments.
If he sees Outlaw as a 3...NOT a 4....and he was his biggest money signing this summer...the guy he went out o a limb for and all but named him an expected starter, an then said specifically...TWILL IS NOT A 3....that starts to close up options. Then he raves about James and sees him on the wing.
He sees Twill as a combo guard. But...Devin is absolutely a big minute PG....and we signed a back up PG...who he says can play with Devin as well.
And then...he doenst name Twill his expect SG. He says...LEE is that guy....and that he could see a battle with HIM and Morrow....not Twill.
The only starting spot he didnt name was PF....and clearly....Twill isnt going to playing the 4.
So? Where is he seeing him fitting in?
And then he talks about trading for a 4...and wanting verteran pressence on the team.
Doesnt that add up to Twill...is on the outside looking in? He could win Avery over...but he may not even get the chance from the way all of this reads to me. SUCKS. A big mistake.
I would have been fine with no Outlaw...and let Twill play...2 or 3...and Morrow at the other wing.
Either way...deal Lee, keep Twill. Give him some time...and some tough coaching and see what happens.
