Why do people here want Marvin Williams, who is another 3/4 tweener. Our PF position is full already, and SF is alright with Linas and Weems probably sharing minutes. Our main priorities should be the C, PG, and SG in that order. For Pistons fan, any interest in trading Ben Gordon instead of Prince?

OK, we need a starting PG, how about Lawson from Denver, the price?????????

Calderon & Evans & possibly Banks (salaries almost match) or Jones (Denver saves 4m) depending on how bad Denver wants to reduce salaries. Calderon & Chauncey can play together at times.

Toronto has to take back Kenyon Martin (He is hurt for a chunk of the season) who can be traded as a big expiring or bought out if the Raps decide that they don't need yet another PF. Can he play Centre?

Williams is not a 4/3, he played the 2 mostly in collage and even played some 2 in his first year. He never played the 4. Right now he's your typical SF.

You can forget about Toronto using their TPE for anything short of an all-star player. There's no way BC/MLSE wants to move into luxury tax for a team that would be hard pressed to make it out of the first round.

If Detroit wants to trade one of Gordon. Prince or Hamilton, then Jose would be going back to Detroit.

Are you guys looking to contend this year, or are you going into to rebuild mode?

If you looking to contend, would you guys be interested in a trade deal involving Andre Iguodala?

Not sure of what would be needed to work, but I'm thinking something like Iggy for DD.

"Retooling mode" .

We are rebuilding essentially and have discussed Iggy for DeRozan over and over and over.

We were all down to trade Iggy when Bosh was here, but for the current team almost everyone here agrees we should stick with DeRozan. He has great potential and is younger and still on his rookie contract. Even if he's never as good as Iggy he loves Toronto more than any player I've seen here and him being on a rookie contracts allows Toronto to sign a big free agent in 2011 and 2012 if they move Calderon.

Exactly. He's a G/F who is best at small forward. He plays on the perimetre and his game screams small forward.

This team still needs a small forward. Kleiza is a sick backup, as is Weems, but I don't think either one is the long term answer. Marvin would be the long term fit. He's athletic and proven he's a good player with potential to be a great player. He's JUST turned 24 and has not gotten the chance to be a 2nd or 3rd option the past couple seasons. He gets his shots after Crawford, JJ, Horford, Smith and on some nights Bibby. He's on the wrong team and I doubt he'll ever breakout there.

He's really big and he's a good defender. I think he'd be a 16 and 7 guy here with great defense. And he only makes 7.5 million a year.

Toronto Out:
Jack

Washington Out:
Hinrich

Washington gets the Raptors' starting point guard to back John Wall at half the price of Hinrich.

Toronto Out:
Calderon + Toronto's Pick + Miami's pick

NJ Out:
Harris

New Jersey has to rebuild around Lopez. They get the Raptors' pick and Miami's pick along with Calderon. Who plays well with big men who set hard screens for him.

Toronto Out:
Kleiza + Bosh TPE + Evans + Banks

Dallas Out:
Butler + Chandler

Dallas gets 9.7 million in expirings (evans and banks) + Bosh's TPE to play with to acquire some pieces. Also they get Kleiza is more skilled offensively than Marion and should be a very good 6th man for the Mavs.

And Toronto becomes a play off team that knows how to play defense.

Toronto's roster:
Chandler / Ed Davis
Bargnani / Johnson
Butler / Weems
DeRozan / Barbosa
Harris / Hinrich

If we are using Tor 1st and Mia 1st, then we can probably get something better than Harris.

And we are keeping Jack for his contract instead of Hinrich.

BTW, that's not rebuilding. All those players, minus Devin Harris, are all in their late 20s.

Man I see where you are going with this but I do not think giving up both our picks + TPE for a possible playoff berth is what we are looking for. I don't see us giving up the picks unless we truly receive something special. Chandler is very injury prone, Hindrich faded away in Chicago and Harris while nice is injury prone and well Dallas knew something by not standing by a young upcoming pg. I hope we are patient and make moves but without sacraficing our near future. In the end I see this as what BC has down over the past years and we all know the result. Let's watch the Young Gunz grow and build (lol retool) with the right pieces.
