OT: My attempt on trading Barbosa in NBA 2K10

Post#1 » by JasonDaPsycho » Mon Jul 19, 2010 3:24 am

I did cheat a little, using an increased cap space.
However, I have made no modifications to Barbosa's ratings. He's a SG rated at 81 when he arrived at my NJ Nets.

And there are also more proposed trades. One involves Brandon Roy and another involves Ben Gordon.

LOL. If only 2K10 was real life..

Actually I became so fed up with how easy 2K10 trading was that I actually turned down some trades to make it more of a challenge.

My 2K10 moments:

Grant Hill and Channing Frye for Jeff Grenn and Thabo Sefolosha

Channing Frye for Anthony Randolph

Alando Tucker and 2nd round pick for Wilson Chandler.

I have kind of given up on 2k10. 2k9 feels better and more fun to play. At least the games.

How come it's no where near that easy for me to get star players like Tyreke Evans? :(

I have to trade someone like Steve Nash to get Tyreke Evans.

One of the craziest things about the game is putting a player on trading block will net you way better deals.

Btw, I traded him for Tyreke Evans. The trade also sent me Rashad McCants.
Oh and the Tyreke Evans I recieved in return has a 92 overall rating.

That trade would have included Michael Redd as well.

I only have a Wii and PS2, so my NBA gaming is pretty starved, but I do have 2k9 for PS2 and it still gets the job done when it comes to association:
SUNS:
PG CP3/Russel Westbrook
SG Mayo/Eddie House/DeShaun Stevenson
SF Gerald Wallace/Mikhail Pietrus
PF David West/Troy Murphy/Ryan Anderson
C Stephen Hunter/Sean Marks(lol)

I wanted to get Jerryd Bayless but those noobs wouldn't even take Westbrook, nor does Gerald Wallace+Troy Murphy net me Rudy Gay. What a bunch of haters, but we will see who is laughing when I stomp all the competition.

@Da_Reel_Kboy he probably has some option switched off which ignores salaries, so the computer abides by this and offers him Redd and Wade.

Btw Jason what is your roster?

Btw Jason what is your roster?

PG: Steph Curry 90 / Some rookie rated at 73 / Stephon Marbury (bench warmer)
SG: Tyreke 97 / Marcus Thornton 71
SF: Some rookie rated at 81 / James Posey 64
PF: Jason Thompson 87 / Serge Ibaka 69
C: Brook Lopez 89 / Some rookie rated at 69

Like I said, because 2k10 was broken prior to the patch (not released until post All star break) and the training system is far from user-friendly, I just flat out edited their ratings.
I can't remember exactly how I dealt for Steph Curry. I believe it's probably a rated at 87 Terrence Williams. And I remember trading away Devin Harris for Jose Calderon before that. Somehow I just ended up with the current roster.
And I also believe that I traded Yi for Tyler Hansbrough at some point.

None of my players play more than 36 minutes, and all of my starters are very happy. Marbury is not on my rotation. I can't remember exactly but I believe other than Posey, all of my rotation players play at least 10 minutes.

Btw, trade for Jose Calderon early in your Assosiation career. Somehow teams really like him. I remember recieving Russel Westbrook in return once he was on the trading block. I didn't even cheat.

I remember when I was playing 2k9, I had Derrick Rose, Kevin Love and Greg Oden on the same team at their prime. That was really awesome. And I never cheated when playing 2k9. I only changed their shooting stroke and their tendencies. I turned Greg Oden into the next Shaq by training him real hard on his low post game and standing dunks. He basically dunks whenever he can and has that Shaq dunk. His FT% is 75% lol.

@Da_Reel_Kboy I mentioned that I used a trainer to increase my salary cap. Yes I'm a cheater at times.
