Even though he said earlier this year that he'd love to play in Italy after retiring from the NBA, I don't see it happening. Although if there is a lockout that lasts an extended period of time I'm sure a lot of the players will play in Europe with the improved competition.

He'll be a minority owner of the Lakers one day, but should never go into coaching.

use his uber focus to rack up career highs in assists this season and distribute the ball more, especially when playing against sleeper last placed teams.

This will keep those games fun to watch and present a new challenge for Kobe. It will also boost the confidence of Odom, Bynum and others

I agree, and wanted to see this from him prior. Kobe is a very underrated passer. When he wants to assist, its beautiful...it helps others get more invovled, and highlights his versatility even more.

Buy a team over in Italy and take his family over there and relax and make more money and live the life of a king and leave the LA life way behind.

I have wanted to see this the past couple of years as well. You see those flashes of greatness in the set-up department, and it just leaves you wanting more. I believe that he could easily average 10+ dimes per game ESPECIALLY if he is healthy and goes back to attacking the basket. Oppossing bigs always have to come over and help which leaves our bigs (both in the top 5 in the NBA) wide open. I just wish he would actually do it. I feel like the game would be so much easier for the TEAM. I think Pau feels this way too by some of the things he has mumbled under his breath in post game losses.

Speaking of Kobe+Passing+Italy, has anyone else noticed that NBA players who played soccer as kids have unusually absurd court vision, passing skills, give-and-go (aka wall passes). Some off the top of the head include:
Kidd
Nash
Paker
Ginobili
Kobe
Pau

I agree they have fantastic footwork. But you missed one of the most important: HAKEEM THE DREAM!

Believe me, when my kids start bouncing the ball at age 3, and they learn to drive to the basket on both sides, the next step will be footwork. Little orange cones, little tires for footwork, the whole bit. The shot will come waaaay later, like in 5th or 6th grade, maybe.

After I find a girl to marry, that is.

I would like to see 15+ rebound an 20+ assist highs, he breaks records either personal/nba/franchise every season iirc.

Start using Pao Gasol and Andrew Bynum more so he could extend his career.

Like he needs to do that to help his legacy. His legacy is already in place, he should not play in Italy. At that point you played so much basketball don't you think if you were him you'd just want to kick back enjoy the fortune.

I don't think Kobe will play in any organized basketball after the NBA. The NBA a couple yrs back was talking about expanding to Europe I think Kobe could be in the ownership of a possible NBA team in Rome.
